Old collection, What cards to look out for? (wotc)

I’m currently sorting through my childhood collection of cards and am wondering if there is a guide, or list of cards to look out for?
Like errors or valuable cards other than the obvious holos.
Most of my cards are neo genesis and earlier

Your best option is to look up old Ebay sales for particular cards. Generally speaking, old cards made by Wizards of the Coast (Base, Jungle, Fossil, Gym series, Rocket series, Neo, and Skyridge) catch a nice penny, especially Charizards, Shinys, and 1st Editions. After that period, it depends on the sets like EX Holon Phantoms and some others.

Gym Heroes and Team Rocket are currently recently rising in price too, interestingly enough.

After that, it also comes down on condition. Like I said before, checking your holos and rares for their recent sale prices on Ebay will help you a lot more and also help you develop the necessary skills to sell and watch out for cards you may want to purchase.

Errors are a niche category, and while they can fetch a larger price than their normative variants, you may have to do some waiting on those cards as they are also hard to price unless there have been previous sales on record to go by.

Thanks for the tips.

After a quick look I found I have few no symbol jungle holos. I also have some base set holos, but no 1st edition or shadowless unfortunately.

Looking at the prices on ebay for the psa 10’s and I’m like :open_mouth: but then realise mine probably aren’t psa 10 worthy so aren’t anywhere near that

Most of the holos have straight scratch lines on them. I’ll have to do some research on grading so I can more accurately estimate what they’re worth
