I think I remembering watching one of his videos before and hearing this rhetoric, but I really don’t know all that much about him or his channel.
Amongst those that favor vintage, there’s definitely some level of uncertainty about investing in modern and the future performance of such assets (more so based on economic principles than some weird personal bias against modern). He just seems to be taking advantage of this undercurrent to create an “us vs them” scenario to build a tighter audience/community around his own content.
Also, I don’t know if he really is a pure modern investor that eschews anything vintage, but if he is, is it really all that surprising that he’s trying to establish more stable foundations/longevity for his own investments and interests? His agenda is really no different from the agenda of the purported “vintage cabal,” except that he is pushing modern.
Overall, to me, the rhetoric just seems like a method to manipulate others to further potentially more selfish interests.
That guy was let go because he couldn’t follow simple posting etiquette. Example: LEONHART pop up shop
The thread was locked because it got too negative. He proceeded to remake the thread so we merged and deleted them (I just made the one above public again so you can see). He kept doubling down and also took it out on the moderation staff so we said goodbye after about the fourth attempt at making the same point in different threads about that pop-up shop (some are still deleted). Ironically most people can probably agree the pop-up shop was kind of a dud.
Can’t say I have even thought about him since. Glad to know we live rent free in his head. It’s a bit humorous that he wears his e4 ban like an intellectual badge of honour meanwhile I legitimately don’t know anything about him or any one of his ideas. All I know was that he wasn’t capable of civil discussion for the short time he was here.
But to be serious, this is like standard bait for the conspiracy-minded. The more you can demonstrate you are ostracized from the “establishment”, the more the audience will think they are consuming some knowledge that separates them from the average person.
That’s very well put, I completely agree with what you’re saying. There’s a lack of understanding in all areas of the hobby at the end of the day, solely depending where you look though.
This explains that odd video intro some months back where he was hitting a heavy bag with gloves. Talking about how he was going to confront the cabal.
About 1 minute of looking up youtube previews of said guy’s channel and i can feel so much negative energy from this guy. Ignore and move on. Not worth disturbing my inner peace.
Are we sure this guy isn’t ScumbagPratt69 with a secret second channel?
Watched 30 seconds of his latest video and he seems so fake, it almost has to be Scott in disguise…
