The devil inside me is saying buy it and then not respond for two weeks. Two weeks later respond saying ohhh sorry im in Italy.
I may have thought of an exception.
If someone is doing a ‘dutch’ listing of like 10 identical PSA cards then blocking out the number to prevent confusion may make sense?
What do you all think?
Yeah, 100%. I actually saw a guy get a negative because he listed multiples of a PSA 10 card and the person didn’t get the copy with the serial number that matched the listing. Was actually going to post that reading through this thread, then got to your post, ha.
I think there are many exceptions, even if many reasons are fairly deceptive. I might consider it if I spent £1000+ on a card and either it was a public sale or the seller publicised it without asking me. I feel like it’s nobody elses business, but on the other hand, if I’m showing it off on here and Instagram etc, am I having my cake and eating it too?
The only time I actively do it now is if I list my Charizard on ebay, because it’s only on there in case someone wants to offer a lifechanging amount of money for it, and I’m not actively trying to sell it. I think most people don’t know my ebay account so I take the number off to keep it more anonymous, because if I were ever to try and sell it, I’ve about 4 or 5 good friends in the community who I would approach first who have expressed interest in it in the past. I don’t want to be approached by all these people if they think it’s actually for sale at a reasonable price only to have to tell them that I want a stupid amount for it, like some other high end auctions on ebay, it’s not really for sale, unless someone offers something too good to turn down.
This is exactly what made me upload each unique card with serial number.
I had a guy who bought a graded 1988 OPC Brett Hull Rookie card from me. I graded probably 20 of that rookie. The card was listed with one picture showing the serial number, and I shipped out a copy with the exact same grade. The buyer messaged me when the card arrived, and was furious. They were frustrated it was not the same serial number. That experience made me understand that each card is different, especially that specific card. Of course there are plenty of negligible examples in Pokemon where it does not matter as much.
when i first came here i had all my serial numbers removed because i was sure that people would crack psa case open and put shit cards in the case and restick em.
because i was alone in collecting before i strated grading ect. and there was this seller that i was sure was sending me cards that were cracked like i mentioned above…
I think i might have been over paranoid about the tingz. he got angry and rage quit selling to me.
it wouldnt be worth it back then to crack stuff for jungle psa 9s and 10’s and fossil psa 10, and 9s. but i read something about silvering ect so i was skeptical that theyy had silvering but were mint 9 and 10. Also ther was like a different welding look on the psa cases he gave me to the ones i bought else were which i was looking at 24 hours a day and going crazy… It has taken me along time to get all this knowledge, but i did alot of it with trial an error at the start.
but when i came here with charizard, if you look back at my collection thread, i was told im hiding stuff lol.
OMG
