The German version of the Wizards Black Star Promos #5, Dragonite, is called “Dragonit”. Every other German Dragonite is called “Dragoran”, so I have no idea how that happened. All copies have it, it’s an universal error.
I bought one of these errors the other day from the German unbroken bonds set.
Do only the Chinese unlimited edition Machop have this error, or the 1st edition as well? Same question for the Magikarp.
I’m currently in the process of making a list of most that have been stated thus far. If anyone knows of any others, let me know.

Here’s a cool one.
Toxapex GX from SM1+.
The error is the background/texture. The SR can be found with the SR background and texture pattern and also with an error HR background and texture pattern:
This is the correct version.
This is the error version.
This is the HR so you can see the error compared to the two SR versions.
Awesome job done, here!
One additional error card I discovered the last months referring to black dot errors is the base set Venusaur #15. There are only a few German cards with this black smear at its cheek. Have seen it only on one further card online with this identical error except for mine. Has anybody seen it, too? Seems quite rare to me.
@Matt8 I’ve moved to the correct thread as requested. And once again welcome to E4.

I have some French card errors to offer you :
All the reverses of the French reprint of Hidden Fates have the English reverse effect on the French cards.
“Talent” is superimposed with “Ability” and there is a very visible shift on the energies of weaknesses/resistances/retreat costs.
And for Jolteon, Weezing, Arbok and Zapdos, it is visible on the text of the card.
If you want more pics, I can send more. And I have Weezing in trade if someone want it
Or this Haunter from FireRed and LeafGreen who has the same text for his attack and his Poké-Power :
I’ll try to send some more this weekend !
Italian fossil Tentacool has an error: the poke power is spelled wrong (“Sviqnarsela” instead of Svignarsela).
As far as I know, both 1st edition and unlimited present this error, and I’ve honestly never seen a correct one
What’s the English reverse effect compared to the French?
Some errors I know of where the pokemon have an incorrect name:
Dragonite is called Dragoran in German and Dracolosse in French.
The black star promo 5 erroneously calls them “Dragonit” and “Dragonite” respectively though.
Another fun one is the German Delcatty from Darkness Ablaze which is erroneously called the German name of Celesteela (“Kaguron”) instead of the correct “Enekoro”.
Due to the length of the text, the energies are not in the same place. As a result, the reverse effect has “holes” in the wrong place.
I might have posted this somewhere already but the French Electabuzz from EX Dragon Frontiers does not have the move damage, no fixed version available as far as I know
Oooh i see what you mean by that. So it’s a consistent issue with all the reprints then? I found an Electrode and the error is quite noticeable. Not so much for Voltorb
If I remember correctly, there was a major reprint of ETB (ETB only) in 2021 and all the reverses of this reprint were affected.
For a large majority of cards, misprint is only worth it in terms of resistance/weakness/retreat cost.
Here is my cool Error card.
Japanese PocketMonster Card
Here are a few pictures taken by my microscope. I wanted you all to see the back and front of this card.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m pretty sure that’s a fake card.
Not properly an “error” but an incredibly stupid misinterpretation and hopefully a fun trivia.
The attack Pound (a hit/slap) was severely mistranslated in vintage italian cards and games.
Someone actually interpreted it like the unit of measurement for mass, giving all these pokemon the attack Libbra (lb)
That’s actually crazy and I’m learning about this card now.
