Appreciate you
investor bros dont know what no rarity is, or any old back jp for that matter ![]()
u cant squeeze the pokeman market or any collectible market for that matter coz there is no way to short it. u could become multimillionaire without even trying if u could ![]()
A substantial amount of no rarity cards have been graded and sent to auction within the past few years, most being sent to Fanatics Collect. Mercari has been saturated with no rarity cards as well from prominent sellers who grade directly through PSA Japan. That additional supply has met demand well.
As others have said, no rarity requires explanation and it is definitely not as cool as a 1st Edition stamp. Personally, I donāt care about them at all.
Can someone link the article please? Iām not able to find it.
I am still very skeptical of the multiple version of short crimp Base set. They appear to just be pack cut differences and reflective lighting in photos unless I am missing something.
Thanks!
I also made a late stage version of this guide for additional variants not really talked about like USA imports. It is unclear if they ever contained different cards.
If someone has a verified no rarity pack we can scan in high res, it might provide some hidden details under close examination to see which short crimp are confirmed no rarity.
Two versions being NR and with rarity but short crimp.
Idk what you said, but I am implying there are no visual differences on a macro level looking at the packs according to the other guide. There may be some indicators under closer inspection that is not yet recognized. Coming across open/verified no rarity packs is almost impossible to do additional analysis. I have a short crimp but it is highly likely a with rarity one. If I could get my hands on one or on high res scans I may be able to find variances.
Iām responding to this. Thereās nothing different about the packs themselves just the contents inside.
No need to bust out the microscope ![]()
It sounds like a goof, but in the last month or two it has been proven to help identify rare prints of cards after 27 years for the first time. There could be some more information hiding for real on the packs if we could get some scans.
That is sure unusual and on brand. It shows the 300 Yen black sticker version where they overlayed a sticker onto the OG 291 stamp.
The real 300 Yen would be a white physical stamp on the packs.
In addition to no rarity, feels like a lot of vintage Japanese isnāt rising with the tide right now
PSA 9/10 set cards are extremely low in price compared to sealed packs and their English counterparts
Shouldnāt be a 1 to 1 with English, but there is a big gap. Just not sure if it will ever catch up
For example. I have a few PSA 8 graded Japanese Neo gen packs. Wanted to crack one open because I got them for cheap but itās so -EV. Even getting a typhlosion T17 in a 10 and you can maybe make your money back on the value of selling the graded pack instead. Wildly cheap PSA 10 prices
the sealed product does seem to be doing better than the singles. i would just sell the graded packs as is.
Base is still undervalued imo, especially sub sets like NR and Shadowless.
NR has a handicap though as it is foreign language - English almost always does better.
But itāll turn at some point.
Enjoy the collecting whilst itās cheaper.
Itās the same with Shadowless. As an international buyer, I just donāt see the point of collecting Shadowless. It feels more like a mid-tier error set. I collect English/international cards, but Iād rather go for 1st ed or unlimited if I canāt get a PSA 10 in 1st ed. But Shadowless⦠no. I feel the same about No Rarity, which looks like an error set.

In all seriousness, it is the Beta equivalent of English pokemon and has a certain charm to itās lore.
I only collect it in high grade 9/9.5s though, as itās not rare pe se overall.
Imo itāll have itās day in the sun at some point.
