I am one of the few people who watch the anime on a regular basis. I really don’t think it’s that bad for the time period. And I do think the anime has gotten significantly better across the generations.
Facts! Glad to have a fellow mech nerd with me
Agree. The First Movie is a masterpiece. And Pikachu’s Vacation as a pre-show
Bionicle was the absolute shit growing up. Tried finding some sealed ones but they were already marked up
Beyblade actually just launched their 4th generation “Beyblade X”. The new gimmick and manga are both pretty cool.
There are already some pretty rare prize beys that go for a decent price too. But I think the prevalence of midfakes would deter a lot of collectors.
Nice paper! Thanks for sharing
The first movie is amazing. Not as good as Pokémon 2000 but amazing
How about some love for Power Rangers? (idc about a boom, theyre just 90s nostalgia overload)
There is a pretty sting community for it. The lightning collection figures are big.
Dino Thunder ftw
though have watched the sentai dubbed in thai a lot as kid lol and Magi Ranger opening ot stuck in my head lmfao
something with Harry Potter?
I know for sure it’s not going to be “fidget spinners” if you talk about a hype that’s the perfect example.
Pokemon is here to stay, people might burn out on collecting complete sets. However they can/will many times move over to collect a particular pokemon or specific set.
But almost no “gotta get them all” anymore.

Omg. Ew. People are grading records? Of course it would be that guy. That is just about one of the most cringy and upsetting things I’ve ever been informed of on the forum.
This world is becoming a bigger and bigger joke. That guy and anyone who does this to records doesn’t care about music. Records are for listening to. This isn’t tcg’s or other collectibles that can dually serve as both aesthetic collectibles and playable items. It’s music goddamnit.
At this point let’s start grading speakers, guitars… no, let’s go even further. Let’s grade wallpaper, christmas tree ornaments. Silverware. Ships in bottles.
I just watched 30 seconds of a video on this, couldn’t take it any longer.
While I agree and I myself do not get the appeal of grading records, I don’t agree with the narrow argument of “x is meant for …, not …”.
I hear this within the video game collecting and grading communities I am in, that games are meant to be played. Of course they are, but why cannot they also be enjoyed and preserved in other ways? Should wine only be drunk, cards played, watches worn, stamps stuck to envelopes, comics read and cars only driven? People grade raw video game cartridges - why not also cassettes? And why not vinyls? Why bother what people collect and how they preserve it? I definitely wouldn’t classify any of this as ‘world becoming a bigger and bigger joke’.
I understand that the negative side to this is that prices can increase and make hobbies less financially accessible for people who are not interested in grading etc., but in reality people will collect vinyl like they have for decades and only the most expensive and sought after records will gain momentum and dictate prices (which after all would have been encased or protected in some way or another anyways). If I am spending USD 10k on a paper banknote in top condition, I would probably pay extra to get a graded copy where I can be certain of what condition I am buying the item in (to an extent) and also having it encased and protected.
I’m finding that I agree with both @brendantheclayboy and @goonhoon here.
It’s disturbing that the number of things being encased in plastic is increasing (presumably to cater to a new speculative market), but I also understand why someone would want to do that. I would assume that the end-buyer of the graded item in question is a serious collector who owns ungraded copies, and can enjoy them both as they were meant to be enjoyed and in a pristine, preserved, condition.
I mean to be fair, you could say the same thing about comics. Cant really read the comic after its been graded.
This has to be fake. No way.
I know they grade action figures for sure. Legos are big. Idk if they grade them though
I actually have some graded Lego – never graded myself, just bought second hand. It’s pretty pointless but a nice way to store rarer minifigs or sets. It’s especially nice with polybags.
This is not a new trend and I’ve seen on eBay since at least 2014. I don’t think the grade really matters though
