I agree, I would want to investigate further before sending out too much value to the company. But they are backed and funded by some reputable names.
no
Why would I trust this company over established names like ebay or PWCC? Seems like they offer the same service with less credibility. IMO the NFT aspect is actually a detriment. How would it be functionally different then just transferring ownership of items from one vault owner to the other?
I also want to say that people can rip this company and the business model apart if they want to but let’s not let that cross over to @stravi757 who just wanted to share something they found interesting.
I like the look of this site more than PWCC.
perhaps I need to read more into PWCC system as I have never used it. what I like about the courtyard is if someone want to bid on an item and you accept. The payment is instantly settled when you accept the bid. Ebay I do not like to use in general. fee’s and taxes are nuts. and too often a problem with shady people.
lol yea NFT is kinda a negative word to people in general.
Appreciate that. Just looking to start a discussion not a war. If I am missing something, happy for someone to point things out.
imo “reputable names” means little, as weve seen recently with the blake martinez thing. unless its oprah winfrey or my wife, i would never put money towards a doomed business model for the majority reason it has reputable names behind it.
only time can tell if theyll stick around, but this seems just like logan pauls fractional tcg marketplace.
Reputable names and the crypto sphere do not go well together haha, but maybe if tom brady and blackrock stand behind this I might dabble in this project. I heard they have a great track record.
Celebrity/‘Reputable’ names mean absolutely nothing in startups. Their interest and involvement is often bought out and feigned.
For those interested, here are the company members: Meet The Team - Courtyard
Can’t say that I am shocked by the descriptions that they provide.
If it’s not entirely clear why a company like this gets this type of reaction, here’s why:
Digitize - Shot in 12K resolution, our custom 3D asset creation processes allow us to capture a photorealistic display. Authentication and provenance are recorded and then we mint the 1 of 1 asset-backed NFT.
Vault - RareMint insures and protects your physical assets in our highly secure vault at no cost to you. Vaulting allows for seamless portability, fast resale and collateralization of your asset-backed NFT without putting your physical asset at risk.
Sell - We are a community of like-minded, passionate collectors. All RareMint assets are initially dropped at our marketplace or with our drop partners. Secondary sales can be made on OpenSea and other marketplaces.

No seller fees for the remainder of 2023 and no taxes to use their vault (like PWCC). And since you have to authenticate cards before they get vaulted there is no dealing with shady people. If someone buys it you get your money period.
Now I just need a bulletin board and some red yarn
Oh I did not know that. I guess things have changed alot since I last used ebay.
Fees only matter in relation to price realized. Selling your pokemon cards at a garage sale have 0 fees, but you are netting a fraction in value. No name places like this are going to advertise no fees but if no one is using the platform, its not far off from a garage sale.
ah, you guys have seen this story before.
I love that the world has woken up to NFTs being viewed as what they truly are; Not F**king Traded
