I dont think thats relevant, I’m pretty sure sleeves are required
That’s definitely true, although I actually like the switch away from the yellow borders. I’m more indifferent about this one I suppose, but I am a fan of the Pokeball opening correctly!
First impression.
Less visable withening due to grey borders, good for binder collectors.
you can still see through many sleeves that are used
I agree that there will be less obvious whitening on the back which is great, but I still can’t help but feel that it looks…cheap.
actually your cardz juzt need to be in decent condition, if a judge zeez ur cardz az unfit to be uzed then itz a problem, but minor zcuffing uzually iznt gonna get you zent home unlezz a judge doeznt like you. (My keyboard iz broke, zorry if thiz iz hard to read)
zleevez are not requred zmh, they only are if you have a marked card on the reverze, and even then, clear onez arent zaving you.
Ah, so sleeving is more a preventative measure for not running into potential trouble. Either way, I would think almost all competitive players sleeve up with opaque sleeves anyway, so it wouldn’t be a problem.
Yup. I said “Hmmm. Wait! Grey borders?!”
I actually kind of like it. Personally, I still lament the loss of the OG JP back, because the new one is NOTHING like the old. But these are a nice call-back to the historic backs, while updating it.
While the grey borders are nice for grading, I don’t like the look. It breaks the card. Honestly, Ya can’t beat Magic’s black borders. It frames the card and really makes it pop more. Grey…
Generally, yes, everyone wants everyone to sleeve with non-reflective, opaque sleeves. However, in casual events, prerelease, just for fun, sleeving isn’t required, but if the backs are different, you’d HAVE to. Sleeves are not a big investment for a deck that likely cost $50+ bucks every year, (magic can be $100+) so if they did switch backs it’s fair to expect sleeves.
