So I caved and opened a 1st edition Neo Revelation pack. I pulled holo Magneton, but it has a strange error. There is a pale silver line running down the left border and slices through the 1st edition stamp. The right side has a similar line, only not as long. The back of the card has silver lines directly behind where they appear on the front of the card. It’s hard to see in the photo, but the yellow border also shows quite a bit of holo bleed.
Has anyone here ever encountered a similar error? Hoping somebody could shed some light on this.
Yeah, it looks like basically the exact same pattern on the back of mine. Need to check out the front when I get home. My guess is the ink didn’t fully dry along the sides on the front and when the sheets stacked, the card left the residue on the back of the sheet above it.
I actually bought it graded a few months ago and didn’t really notice it until the other day. It’s a straight 9, no qualifier. I’ll see if I can post some pics when I get home.
Here’s the card. The front has a tiny bit weird stuff going on near the 1st stamp (really hard to see though) but the back has the same blotches of silver
Thanks for posting these pics! I’m glad to know this error is pretty well documented. The back of my card is almost identical to yours, but your 1st edition stamp looks intact, where mine almost has the appearance of a ghost stamp because of the line running through it. The pack was expensive, but I’m glad I opened it for the learning experience. Plus I’ve got an awesome new card for my miscut/error collection.
