Philly has a real chance in the East. Been waiting for Simmons to get his jump shot and if he does this year, we’re in for a ride! With our biggest rivals in Milwaukee I feel we have a good, tall defensive setup against him now, headed by big ol’ Al Horford.
It will be philly for the east. Milwaukee didnt improve during the off season. Its sixers time in the finals. I’m thinking either LA teams and philly. Probably lakers. A mature russ and harden could make a go too. Houston didnt have to give up any of their core group for russ.
Yeh but you could argue that philly went backwards. Losing Reddick is big as the last few years weve really taken advantage of these catch and shoot players like him, bellinelli and illyasova. So it will be interesting to see how we go with a diff look. I dare say we will get some good mid and long range players throughout the year.
I am a big Lakers fan, and I think they have a great shot this year. If Kuzma can step up when needed and maybe become a 3rd all star would be awesome.
Yea I was saying he came back and played after. And someone else said he was a bum when he came back. Which is just beyond me why you would refer to him as a bum he was pretty much forty when he came back. Also Durant’s on a $164 million contract with Brooklyn right now with the Achilles tear. These organizations are loaded with doctors and physicians so I think I’m going to read the writing on the wall. This dude is going to compensate and become even more lethal from range and still be a top 5 player just like all these teams throwing millions at him are anticipating.
Dude hes exiting his prime AND dealing with the worst injury possible in the sport. Durant wont ever be the same. None of them are after something like this.
He’s still going to be a top 5 player. You’ve never had anyone near as talented as Durant tear their Achilles. He’s going to lose a step or two but man how can anyone sit here and say Durant’s going to come back a bum. Y’all are tripping.
He will have to adjust his game, it will not be the same. Lateral movement, explosiveness, hell ANY movement is affected, including his shooting. His contract means nothing, its a gamble. They know he will still be okay, but he won’t be Durant of the past. If he plays 75-80% of his old self, its a solid deal…when he doesn’t, it’ll look meh. He is an athletic freak…that is why he was so good. Lose a step and mobility and you aren’t the same player at all. If you think an older, slower, less mobile Durant will still be top 5, you are in for a surprise.
ok so older? Like a year older? he’s nowhere near being over the hill in age yet. He’s leaving his prime. I literally saw a Durant who was going for 40 by sitting behind the line and off his calf in game 5 of the finals just lighting Toronto up. A Durant that comes back at 80-90% is still a top five player. And that’s what everyone’s anticipating. No one whose had an Achilles tear had the game Durant has. He’s incredibly light for his height. And are you telling me Durant is going to have a worse jumper? A worse game from mid range and range?
Time will tell with Durant but I think he will come back and still be amazing. Definitely in the discussion for top 5 player in the league. He is unbelievably skilled and long plus more advanced recovery than from 10+ years ago. We are seeing players in all sports come back from wicked injuries and still be amazing which was unthinkable in the past. Just look at Paul George, everybody thought he was done and now people have him back as a top 10 player and in MVP discussions. We will have to see with Durant.
ok well y’all can regurgitate max kellermen and SAS all you want. Don’t be surprised when Durant doesn’t even lose a step. And that’s ludicrous to think his jumpers going to diminish. He’s seven foot and light as a feather.
But they’re right though. By the time he comes back he’ll be either 32 or 33. He isnt the kind of athlete that bron is. Bron is different and kept himself in peak condition over the years. Even if Kobe didnt suffer that same injury he wasnt what bron is today.
Durant looks frail and eggshell like. Hes going to be more cautious after his return too. Kyrie fked up. Truth.
