My slippy collection (Update: The first milestone!)

Wow, talk about an unfortunate turn of events. Luckily you still got the card after all this hassle! If it was my post office, they would have simply shipped the card back and said it was undeliverable.

Congrats again on your new pristine card

In the end everything went better than expected. It was quite an emotional rollercoaster though.

I wanted to post some more cards I acquired in the past few weeks:

To be honest I don’t get what Ultrabeasts are. I don’t know many of the Pokemon in Crimson Invasion by name since I haven’t played the XY and SM games. But I bought a booster box anyway. Pulls were quite bad, this guy was the only ultra rare I pulled and I don’t even know what this thing is supposed to be (a pumpkin?).
This guy is one of the better looking cards of Crimson Invasion I think. I ended up liking some of the regular holos most, I prefer artworks like the alola-raichu much more than these generic 3D models.
Since I’ll probably never pull any Full-Art Trainer myself I traded this one and Guzma.

Such a badass :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
If you ask me it was a somewhat stupid decision to include these in the promo boxes. Doesn’t make this card less pretty. Lugia and Mew all the way. Only one I’m missing now is Volcanion, which is not too bad.
Didn’t got to see the movie in theatres sadly. A friend of mine was nice enough to pick up a few leftovers from a cinema and give it to me for free.
FINALLY got the missing part in this beautiful duo. Really love both Reshiram and Zekrom. I appreciate the over the top design of these cards.
This baddie arrived today. It was my most expensive purchase so far and I don’t regret anything, especially as it was still quite cheap and in a very good condition.
One little speck of dirt on the back and some whitening.

Schlingking? Now that’s a funny name for Guzzlord, I like that

You just put Dark Octillery and delta species Gyarados on my radar! Thanks for sharing your collection!!!

I’m glad you say that. I think the EX era reverse holos and some artworks in general are heavily underrated.

I like the german names a lot. Schling translates into somewhat like “to gobble”.

There are many wordplays with Pokémon names in general. I like how they translated Deino, Zweilous and Hydreigon in different languages and used foreign languages to hide the numbers one, two and three in them. In german it’s Kapuno, Duodino and Trikephalo, in french it’s Solochi, Diamat and Trioxydre and so on.

11/30/17: Some new members (more are on the way)

This one is in my opinion the better looking artwork from expedition. Too bad it’s not holo. I’ll probably buy the reverse-holo sooner or later though.

And his uglier brother. It was advertised as mint, too bad it has some damage on the top and red ink on the left side and top. Didn’t actually expect it to be mint though. I’m ok with how it is.

I love unique artworks, special card designs, 1st Editions and Charizard so this is one of my more beloved Charizard.

Owned the Promo one before, but this one is much cooler. Crazy how cheap the Lv. X cards are.

One of my favorite artworks of Charizard. The striped holo one is on it’s way, too.
UPDATE: Just came back from my local dealer!

I feel like Brock when looking at this card
A few more Fullart Trainers to compensate my bad pullrate with these.
Future me will probably thank me.
Small crease on the bottom right, otherwise a beautiful card.
A few random cards I got literally for free.

Great Ho-Oh!

Thanks. Usually I’m more of a Lugia guy, but Ho-Oh has some great artworks and is often a lot more available (compare crystal type Ho-Oh and Lugia for example).

That’s quite a problem with these Full-Art Trainers. From a collector’s point of view most are just too expensive. Maybe it’s smart to wait until they rotate out of standard.

Some new Charizard arrived in the past days:

This baddie arrived yesterday all the way from canada. The shipping was freaking cheap, fast and it was damn well packaged. I’m amazed and also can’t decide if I prefer striped or cosmos holo for this card now.
Even though I love the reverse-holos of the EX era I had to get this amazing card. Interesting enough I paid more for the english regular holo than the german reverse-holo.

This one was unfortunately a bummer. Top left and bottom right edges are damaged. Call me naive but I think it was damaged by the post since the packaging wasn’t that good.

This one is crazy. Always wanted it, never pulled it from 40+ boosters and had to see the prices climb up for the german version. Ended up buying the english one for 1/3 of the german price.
Last but not least I got this from an auction where I was the only bidder. Had an eye on this cutie for a while, so it was a no-brainer for 1,70€.

Bonus pic:
Got these from my girlfriend and actually think they are really cool even though the quality is by far no lego.

nice collection adds! It’s a shame about the original Charizard being damaged in the post.

That’s a CP6 1st Edition Charizard though. My base Charizard is on it’s way from japan right now.

I’ve waited quite some time for my packages from japan and uk to arrive. Since this will be quite picture-heavy I’ll put some photos behind spoilers:

At first I have to tell you guys it was the best decision I could’ve made to buy these card holders. All the precious cards look so georgeous in them. Still have to figure out how to store them, though. They’re quite expensive and kinda hard to get here, but I’ll start replacing my binder step by step.
Top row is all new cards. I get so many nostalgic feelings seeing these beautiful artworks together. The base set trio is iconic for the TCG and the Sugimori trio brings back memories from the GB games. (I also really appreciate the squirtle and bulbasaur deck icons, too bad they didn’t make a charmander deck)

Some new Charizard (click to show)

I do think this is one of the better looking CGI artworks. Something about the colors and pose give it a dark and gritty tone, which I like.
This is one of the uglier Charizard out there, but still a Charizard.
Even though the respective Pokemon doesn’t look as mighty and powerful on these hand-drawn artworks, I’ll prefer them a hundred times over some CGI artwork. This one is especially lovely.
These are just adorable Charizard-related cards which I wanted to get my hands on before they become even more expensive.

Some random cards I won in auctions (click to show)

Since Prof. Juniper seems to be quite playable and therefore quite expensive, I was glad to pick this japanese beauty up for the fraction of her english and german sisters.
Just a random japanese card passing by. Didn’t even see it was SR until now
I was ready for a bid war on this card since I love Flareon, EX era reverse holos and especially fell in love with this holo-pattern. Turned out to be a one-sided war and won the auction at 2,50€ lol

Update 01/19/18: Finally got my first shadowless cards thanks to an awesome efour member!

They are in decent condition. Charizard has a little crease on the back, Blastoise some light scratches and Venusaur is the worst with a bunch of big scratches. Nonetheless I’m really happy with all of them.
This boy came all the way from japan and I love him.
This is not my favorite Charizard art and I did wait quite long to get it. I finally went with the japanese unlimited version, but now that I saw it in person I think the holo pattern is fantastic so I’ll probably get another version of it.
This one was also on my list for too long.

Shedinja is as underrated as the ex era reverse holos.
Some cards I got from my girlfriend for christmas. Respectively pulled from the packs she gifted me.
Some random cards I got through auctions ending low.

very nice stuff. love them all, but having your first shadowless trio is pretty dang awesome my dude

Man - love those Japanese CD promos. Amazing stuff!

Thank you. I’m not a huge base set fan, I didn’t like most of the artworks and depictions of the Pokémon as a kid (partially still as an adult) but I remember being always on the hunt for the three starters. I remember pulling Venusaur from a pack, trading Charizard and Blastoise on the playground and all my cards getting stolen by a classmate. Therefore I decided to start collecting the different versions of them now. I already own a german first edition Charizard and have to admit that the english one probably won’t fit in my budget anymore, so I went with shadowless cards. They have the unique shadowless style of the 1st Ed. ones without being so expensive.

Yeah, I love the artworks. So much nostalgia even though I didn’t even know these exist until a few months ago. The Venusaur and Blastoise are the Intro Deck Versions btw., not CD promos.

Update 02/10/18: Since I started collecting Charizard a few months ago I reached my first milestone this week.

This was the last artwork I needed (tcg wise, no carddass, topsun or topps yet). I could’ve gotten it earlier but it always slipped through my hands because I was so hesitant. This one has quite a clean front and some whitening on the back but it was a fair price and I’m overall happy I bought it and finally have a feeling of accomplishment. Now I’m looking for all the different variations. My next goal will probably be the legendary collection reverse holo.

This is my collection so far. 54 Charizard and 4 incoming.
