Movie Box Office, Releases, and Discussion

Will be going to see this sometime next week:

Quite excited for it, apparently it’s quite grimm and graphic. Ron Howard is a pretty damn good director and the cast is very good.

This was some awesomely awesome movies I watched that were tops last year… All Thrillerish and PSycho Thrillerish:
Gone Girl
Nightcrawler
The Imitation Game
The Loft
Predestination
Transcendence
White Bird in a Blizzard
Interstellar

I know this movie was this year but it was pretty great, plus the guy who Wrote/Directed it/ 1 of the Main Character was Aussie!! - The Gift

@darkrai hahahaha lol I was not expecting that lol. The entrance and the foreboding music playing in the background built up a serious atmosphere. lol comic gold, ill have to look into that film!

I expect Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 2 to beat it out.

It’s a true story, and the story inspired Moby Dick to be written.

As someone who doesn’t read many books, and as someone who has been let down by many ‘classics’ in the past. Moby Dick deserves it’s standing as a classic.

Movies Coming Soon December 11th, 2015

In the Heart of the Sea
Plot: In 1820, a whaling ship out of New England, the Essex, encountered a sperm whale that seemed to have a streak of human vengeance, assailing the ship and stranding the crew out in the ocean for 90 days. The true story was the inspiration for Herman Melville’s classic novel, Moby Dick.

I’m not so sure about the overarching opinion of you guys. I think people have thought the same for several different movies. For example. There was an incredible amount of hype for The Dark Knight. The trailers showed an incredible amount of stuff that people thought to be spoilers. Not to mention that it was a PREQUEL, when, in movie history, prequels tend to do worst than the first movie. But it got rave reviews and the number of people who hated it was dwarfed by the mountain that was the declaration for it’s success.

This is a new era of Star Wars. And I, for one, am optimistic. I’ve never been so stoked for a movie in YEARS.

The Dark Knight wasn’t a prequel, unless you meant Batman Begins.

I am not saying people can’t be hyped for the new Star Wars at all, I would never do that to people. I get hyped for movies all the time. It’s just I am saying the hype will never be met, no matter how good the movie potentially is.

The exact same thing will happen with Half Life 3. If you are ok with some cross-media comparison.

Thats the problem with the hype train. tickets are always free…
