Hopefully this hasn’t already been shared. Somehow I stumbled across this article from MSN clickbait. Trophy Kangaskhan making the list(#17) is a miracle. Not because it isn’t valuable enough, but because it isn’t iconic beyond its base—unlike Alpha Black Lotus or 1st edition Charizard. Or is the tide changing?
Also worth noting that Cosmopolitan is a terrible publication.
And of course the picture of the Trophy Kangaskhan is by ‘our’ @prochaos .
Some info about the writer of the article: “*Mehera Bonner is a news writer who focuses on celebrities and royals”*So, is Prochaos a celebrity or a royal? Or both?
Great share…for me;) Thanks.
Going down the list I saw the Bone Comic. I couldn’t believe how high the prices went. I hadn’t looked in a couple decades. I knew I had several mini sets but wasn’t sure how many were 1st print Cartoon Books. Turns out I only had a 1-5 CB set and a 1-3 CB set all signed by Smith. And, they were all from my collectible shop in Ohio fully protected/bagged and boarded. Maybe it’s time I finally broke down and graded some comics?
Anyway Zubat, thanks again for sharing. You made my day:)
Interesting. The comics look familiar, but I don’t actually remember if ever read one. I wonder if they were at the my school’s library or popular amongst friends.
Did you retain them because you enjoyed them, your radar for collectibles tell you the comics had potential, or was it simply unsold inventory?
@zubat,
They are just part of my collection. I collected just about all the titles’ short early runs. Usually 1-3s. Of course most are pretty worthless but I still like them:)
