I mainly collect sealed products, but I’m starting to look into picking up some exclusive promo cards, both English and Japanese are of interest.
I’m particularly into more “unique or obscure” promos, not really after the usual poncho Pikas etc. I really like the Art Academy promos style and similar, but obviously not in my range. (Looking for something around £1.5k or similar to an Evolving Skies bb that I’m looking to sell/trade) Cheap promos are welcome!

For your price point, I would say something like the Burned Tower or Mysterious Pearl promos. You can likely get them in pretty high grades too (maybe not a 10).
You may also want to consider things like Battle Road trainers given out as prizes at side events or even something funky like Pokedude.
End of the day, it’s a very personal choice for what do you actually like
You could pick up a good chunk of a year’s tropical wind set at that price point. 2004, for example, only has 310 copies of each worlds 2004 stamp in each language
