I hope you enjoy my collection. My main goal at the moment is finishing Vending Series and adding fun promos along the way.
Vending Series Collection:
My first series I started collecting after reconsidering my collection goals. I am very drawn to the artwork. I truly believe it was ahead of it’s time. My top three favorite cards are the Snorlax, the Haunter illustrated by Habu, and the Growlithe by Komiya.
This is my current collection of Japanese promos. It is a little unorganized, but I hope to come back and fix it as I update my post. This has everything from old-back, sealed, e4 Secret Santa, to newer promos.
Great showcase. Vending is a superb set and Japanese promos are close to my heart. Really great collection you have here and it is great to see you slowly keep adding to them. The detective Pikachu sealed promo is superb and a reminder that I would also like to add it to my collection sometime.
Thanks a lot for sharing. Looking forward to more of your updates.
Wow great, it worked! Feel free to choose what you like though, it’s just a matter of preference! For example my collection thread doesn’t have fancy reply comments (aka journal format)
whelp. Looks like I’m remaking my collection thread XD. This format is much better for keeping track and for viewers to see progress and discuss certain parts of the journey.
Thanks! When I got back into the hobby I was collecting all of the modern chases. I walked into a local card shop and found a really odd looking seadra that I had to take home. I wanted to know more about it which led to me finding an interesting YouTuber’s video on the whole set. @smpratte
Beautiful, beautiful collection! Very nice to see Vending getting this much love. My favorite is probably that little Caterpie but I also enjoy all those “weird”/experimental artworks like Shellder, Bulbasaur, Geodude
I love the background on the caterpie. I think it’s cool that every Pokemon, no matter the rarity has their own unique artwork that stands up against the rest.
I totally agree! The background for a lot of them is the best thing, and I love that it often has ton of space in the artwork.
Vending is probably the best set when it comes to integrating Pokemon with their habitat: Kusube, Himeno and Komiya all did a fantastic job.
I think just having Item and Trainer cards that look unique speaks a lot to the set as a whole! I was also able to find my favorite artists so far because of vending series so it has a special place. I like Habu’s really strong line work and of course Komiya.
I really enjoyed looking through your collection. I love the Vending Series and hope you have much fun completing it. The promos are really great and so beautiful. Thanks for sharing and looking forwards to the updates.
Btw: I absolutely count the Max Revive as a Starmie cameo and also collect them as Starmie cards. What’s your take on this?
Great collection. I’m also starting out collecting the vending and older Japanese promos / exclusives. There are so many amazing cards from that era! Do you have a favourite promo in your collection so far?
