Hey guys went to my P.O. Box to pick up my package today, one of them shows delivered and even had a signature and is stamped with my UPS P.O. Box address. The UPS store told me they don’t have the package, I asked them if they could please provide a letter stating they didn’t receive the package so I could send that to eBay, UPS told me they would not write me up a letter (no idea why but they were very reluctant to want to do that.) They told me I have to call USPS since they were the shipper. I contacted USPS and they opened a case number and investigation on the package. I called all near by stores that are opened to see if maybe it was delivered to the wrong sweet but nothing. I contacted the seller and they confirmed they shipped to the write address and PO Box number. USPS even said the label was right. So either the carrier dropped it off to the wrong store or UPS put it with another clients PO Box. It’s a $550 package, anyone else have this issue before? What else can I do? Thanks
I don’t have any experience with PO Boxes to offer advice, but what the hell is the point of a PO Box then? UPS is passing the buck to USPS. USPS shows delivered, but if the investigation turns up nil, is able to wipe their hands clean since they don’t control the box? There’s got to be something in your contract the references this type of situation.
That’s what I’m thinking how can you simply say you don’t have my package and then say you won’t provide a letter or proof stating you didn’t deliver anything when I pay $300 a year to have a box lol, I called them again after talking with Usps, talked with the same manager at UPS and relayed him the info he told me he would check all his packages and I asked for the letter again for a forth time after being told NO in person 3 times (he was very annoyed) he told me on the phone now he will see if he can do a letter and get back to me. They basically made it sound like it’s not their issue that they don’t have the package and that they just simply receive them that’s all.
So this may be different than your contract, but i found this clause in a UPS po box contract online:
“Customer agrees to protect, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Center, The UPS Store, Inc., and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporations, franchisees, officers, directors, agents, and employees from and against any and all losses, damages, expenses, claims, demands, liabilities, judgments, settlement amounts, costs, and causes of action of every type and character arising out of or in connection with the use or possession of the Mailbox, including without limitation, any demands, claims, and causes of action for personal injury or property damage arising from such use or possession, from failure of the United States Postal Service or any commercial carrier service to deliver on time or otherwise deliver any items (mail, packages, etc.), from damage to or loss of any package or mail, or to the Mailbox contents by any cause whatsoever, from the Center’s collection or remission of sales, use, or any other taxes, including, but not limited to, the Center’s failure to refund any amounts that have been collected or remitted, from any penalties, fines, or other liabilities that arise out of, or in connection with, the Center’s actions or status as Customer’s agent with respect to export transactions, or the Center’s completion and filing of any Shipper’s Export Declaration on behalf of Customer, and from any violation by Customer of applicable federal, state, or local laws, or the laws of any foreign jurisdiction. In the event that the Center submits or processes any sales, use, or other tax refund claim on behalf of Customer, Customer agrees to cooperate fully with the Center, including, but not limited to, providing any and all information and documentation necessary to process or submit such a claim.“
Now I’m not a lawyer, but that literally sounds to me like it’s written in the contract that they are not liable for anything that happens to your mailbox contents.
Lol yep I was just looking that up, absolutely ridiculous. What are you even suppose to do at that point lmao. I’m sure with all the packages everyone else gets here I can’t be the only one that’s had an issue. Just hope I’m not out my $550 now.
I give it a high chance that was just putt in the wrong box. If possible and have them look in all the boxes and find it. I have package concierge at my complex and I’ve had packages put in the wrong slot before more than once…
Well the package is actually too big for the PO Box. But according to them they checked all the packages. My fear is that they did get it and maybe they stuck the wrong customer label/box number on it and someone already picked it up. No idea the recourse this these situations. I did pay on eBay using my PayPal and my credit card
Time for a usps Post Office box,
This sounds like a nightmare! Good luck and please let us know what ends up happening. Fingers crossed it’s somehow recovered. USPS once found a lost package but it was smaller and easier to misplace than this bigger box you’re describing
Hey Gary how would this go differently with a USPS PO Box? Do they cover you? Maybe you have some experience in this thanks
Haha yep it is, I’ll keep it updated trying to do everything I can to find the package if that does work I’ll try and do everything I can to get my money back. USPS should be reaching out to me Monday/Tuesday from the investigation team go get it started so we’ll see what happens
Update, USPS called today saying they delivered to STE 14 Instead of STE 22. I called STE 14 and the store says “they don’t think they have it but will check” the plot thickens. Funny thing is the delivery says ste 22 yet the carrier apparently brings to ste 14, funny how these carries always manage to mess up and create living hell for the receiver
At my old address I kept having orders without tracking go missing. Turns out it’s because there is a second Street with the same name right down the road. Maybe they were delivering there. One was De Luna Drive. The other was De Luna CT. After moving in with my girlfriend everything shows up fine
Hey guys got to the bottom of it after constant calls with usps and ups, talking to the right people, opening up cases, investigations and being persistent we tracked down the package it appears UPS did get it and put it in out going mail or that the USPS carrier put it in UPS out going mail when she delivered it, They both seem to disagree and blame each other for the mix up no one is taking the fault just happy my $550 package was found. Long story short if this happens to you just be very persistent, don’t take no for an answer, act as quickly as possible and just know you will have to go to WAR to get what you need lol.
