It’s been a while since I’ve picked up an expensive card—been mostly inactive on the buying front for a bit. Just got my eyes on this Japanese Metagross, and I wanted to ask the grading experts here what you think it could get from the main companies: **PSA, CGC, BGS
These are the photos the Japanese seller provided, so this is all I have to go off for now. I know it’s tough without seeing the card in hand, but figured some of you may still have a good eye for it.
What I’m mainly wondering:
What grade would you estimate from PSA / CGC / BGS based on these pics?
Which grading company do you think would give the highest grade for this specific copy?
Any noticeable flaws that might be missed at first glance?
Appreciate any insight. Trying to decide if this is worth the pickup and where I should send it if I pull the trigger.
If that’s what your worried about I would just grade it at the company you like the most, at the end of the day a grade is just someone else’s opinion and you shouldn’t be looking for the highest grade but rather what you like the most, if you can’t decide I’d keep it raw, that’s just my opinion though
im worried because i put a portion of my net worth into this card
its my only income i love the hobby too!
but true, personaly ive only used PSA and CGC but i think a CGC or BGS label would match the colours the best and also i dont want to wait till retirement for cards to come back.
Agree with your point 100% as a collector, im just thinking financially in a sense
looks really good but the edges are in worse condition than meets the eye but its hard to tell on the white background
psa is hard on japanese vintage but it would yeild the highest value. Maybe consider bgs if you want the highest grade possible since the centering is good (not perfect), since there is a shift. The surface and corners are great. maybe a psa8 but i could give a stronger opinion if you retook pics against a dark background
bgs 8.5
