With how crazy things have gotten in this hobby, I have been looking into finding cards that truly fit the bill for rare and exclusive to collect. I came across this Meowth Stamp Rally card on Z&G emporium currently up for auction and noticed a really low overall population for this card and did some digging.
All I could find was a thread here on E4 from 2018 mentioning that the card was considered rare but not much talk about it since then. With literally every card under the sun being 10k and over and this one seemingly being relatively cheap so far, do you think this is something that might be worth me bidding a few thousand on that actually fits the bill of a rare card? Or is it just a card no one graded?
Ah, you have a great eye. This card has such a storied history and connection with the TCG. Personally, I think it deserves a place in any true collector’s collection. It’s been so difficult to track down, so I’m glad you posted it here.
I will announce, publicly, that I will be bidding at least $10,000 on this very auction and would be very happy to win it for so cheap. Not trying to create a floor price or anything, I just want people to know how much I really want this card and how hard it is to find.
I’m really glad you said that! It does seem like a great piece to add to the collection and now I will have to consider how much I can allocate to win this card haha. With the floor for almost every popular and rare vintage card being 10k, I think it’s reasonable to consider that amount as a solid price to try and win it.
