I have been trying to get the Mario Pikachu box sealed for the past few months for about $140-$160, but absolutely no luck. Am I just out of luck and should settle for spending $200 on the box? I am still pretty inexperienced in figuring out trends and when to wait it out versus going all in. I appreciate any advice and wisdom on this.
If it’s something you really want, instead of waiting months, just spend the extra 30/40 bucks.

IF you buy it on eBay together with the Luigi box, you can get a good deal on eBay

They really have. Just when you think they hit a ceiling and are possibly dropping, things like the increase of the Luigi box from ~$80 to ~$110 happen suddenly.
