I purchased a PSA 10 Gold Star Pikachu from a very well known member of the collecting community (ya’ll may know him as Pokerobbie on IG, he’s also here on E4) and it’s basically been stuck 20 minutes away from my house at the San Francisco USPS ISC (international sorting center) since September 6, or over one month ago now:
Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, did your package finally get to you? How long was the wait? I’ve initiated a lost mail request with USPS as has Robbie with the carrier he used and neither of us have heard anything back yet. I’ve received plenty of other international packages from Europe and Asia in this same amount of time without any issues.
ISC San Francisco is staffed by thieves. They once “lost” more than 300 of my shipments in a single day. I had to contact each of the customers and explain why their purchases weren’t ever going to be delivered. (Of course, I issued refunds to all of them.)
I recommend contacting the seller ASAP and asking them to file a lost-package postal insurance claim on your behalf. This will light a fire under the post service’s ass, and hopefully result in the package being “found” and delivered to you without further delay.
Hope it works out well. At least there’s a record of the item reaching the ISC. Hopefully it is truly just stuck somewhere, and they’ll figure it out and get the package along its way.
Actually I’ve shipped a card from Canada to New York to a e4 member and it’s been stuck at ISC Chicago since September 24.
I opened a claim/ticket with Canada Post, but should the buyer do the lost mail thing with USPS as well? I advised them to contact USPS but I’m not sure if they did.
I have one stuck in NY customs that I am the buyer for. Hasn’t moved since September 23rd. Seller opened a claim a few days back and they said they will update with information in 1 week to 30 days… It was a multi thousand dollar package that was well underinsured as the seller unfortunately thought he had to underdeclare to avoid customs (I never asked for that).
I’ve had a few packages now come from the states (to Canada) show the tracking as “stuck” as well for well over a month on while “it’s way to delivery”… everytime I fill out a file complaint on the USPS website the package magically appears within 1-2 days of me doing this. (Tracking still never updates though). Quite strange, not sure if this is USPS or Canada Post causing the problems. Although I do know Canada Post has been notorious lately for fucking up packages.
I have noticed there have been quite a lot of delays on the US side when shipping there recently. Some shipments taking easily a month+ to arrive, and not the usual 6-12 business days.
Yeah I’ve never once received a response after filing a complaint either, the packages just showed up soon after so I never had to escalate the situation. But if they never showed up it would be a huge problem for me lol
I’ve never just randomly received a package type classified as “Priority Mail International Parcels” without it being scanned somewhere between customs/ISC and the local USPS hub; i’m certain if the package is lost at all it’s lost it’s gotta be lost at ISC (after all, that is the sorting center).
But at this point, i’m just hoping that Robbie and I combining to get some visibility on this from the postal agencies helps us track this thing down. I definitely want the card more than the money at this point…lol.
About a month ago I had a card stuck at Dutch customs in Amsterdam for about 2.5 weeks. No idea why it took so long… Pretty annoying, considering the card arrived from the US to The Netherlands in just 11 days. But than I had to wait 2.5 weeks more because of those damn customs… I was glad and relieved it eventually arrived… That was probably the longest I had to wait for a package in customs.
