List of Cards No Longer Graded by PSA

Why do they not grade no rarity raichus anymore? Do they grade other no rarity base set cards?

I think they accept all no rarity cards except Raichu, which shares its number with Pikachu; and Venusaur, which shares its number with Machamp.

I haven’t seen this written anywhere, but my best educated guess it that Venusaur’s number is 068 because it’s level is 67.

Japanese Pikablu cards

And I think they stopped accepting FPO cards for Custom Encapsulation:

They didn’t stop grading these, they just changed the label. If you look up this card’s certificate on PSA’s website (www.psacard.com/cert/18447192) you’ll see that the card is now correctly attributed as “Marill-Glossy” from the “1999 Pokemon Japanese Corocoro Comics Promo” set.

There’s been an uptick recently of people paying extra for cards like these as though PSA’s mislabelling makes them somehow more desirable. If this card is ever sent in for re-casing it’ll end up having its label corrected, too.

Okay so they do now grade these again using a different set association completely…
Here is one which appeared today on eBay with a very recent certificate:

…and here is the holofoil version which prompted me to send mine in in the first place:

I guess I’ll try to send these in for a third time… :sob:

@pichufan, Have you tried sending an inquiry if they would grade the entire anime collection from sets 1-8 and gold silver 1-3? I have a bunch of cards also from Gold and Silver and was planning to send them in but I’d thought it would be better to inquire if they grade them first.

@mrpandachum after they sent them back ungraded the first time I tried, when I sent them in a second time I included a page detailing the set their origin and some cards PSA had previously graded from the set - they again sent them back ungraded.

I have no idea what the submitter of this new card told PSA but clearly the documentation I provided was ignored.

PSA’s response time to emails about ‘will you grade X’ tend to take a very, very long time to be responded to as PSA are so busy at the moment. I sent an email to them in January asking if they’d recognise the new ‘Dengeki’ Pichu variant and it was only early last month I had a reply to say it had been forwarded to the relevant internal department.

This is a bit annoying. When I have more free time Ill send in a request for every single card cause I don’t know if there is a way for someone to submit a “do you grade any cards from this set” inquiry. Also does one have to pay for the fee to get back a card if it was refused to be graded?

Also do they still grade the original set 1-8? Is this only with Gold and Silver set? These are the questions i need answers to before i send in a submission.

I hate that I’m not able to grade the catch mew promo card. It’s the first English Mew print and there are 8 in the pop report but they never come up.

Easy recent one that hasn’t been mentioned,

Modern English- Celebrations Gold Plated Charizard/Pikachus because they may get scratched in case for being too thick. There was mention of new cases for these specific plated cards, but as of now, NoGrade.

Does PSA allow reholder services for cards that are no longer being graded?

I’m not sure unfortunately.
