Light grey/blue middle layer Japanese Pt4 Advent of Arceus.

Hi All,

Just to check some of my lot and learn I ripped a damaged card in half 1 to see the color of the middle layer. Its a Japanese 2006 Pt4 Advent of Arceus Trainer card. Is it correct that the middle layer is grey/light blue? Suppose to black like with the vintage cards? In real the middle layer is clearly visible and its more blue then grey, its just a bit hard to catch on photo. I also ripped a 2006 Energy card and it also had this same middle layer color :blush:

Someone else correct me if I’m wrong. That is likely the graphite core at the center of the card.

@octaane, so that would mean all is normal right? Or is there something else that’s missing/different in the core?

To me it looks just like it’s supposed to be…

Yeah, this is a normal genuine card. See this pic - it shows where the graphite core in the card is. It provides strength to the card, and also doesn’t really allow light through it - that’s why if you ever have a fake card, you can pretty much tell by trying to shine a flashlight/cellphone flashlight through it.
