"Lets go with Pikachu" Keiko Fukuyama Picture book.

I recently purchased this picture book from 1999 illustrated by Keiko Fukuyama and fell in love with it. I thought the community might enjoy it, so here goes. Also big thank you to Feral Moose for translating the first few stories. I modified the literal translation to smooth it out a bit. If I get more translations I will add them in later. Enjoy!

The Mysterious Seed:

(Reading right to left) As Pikachu and friends are playing in an open field, a mysterious character comes along. “This is a magic seed, how fascinating!” Pikachu plants the seed in the ground and… / In an instant Pikachu disappeared! How terrible! Lets go and help!

Above the trees, they find a mysterious land. Is mew there? Everyone spent the day enjoying mew’s theme park. / Huh? Back in the open field where we started? I wonder if it was all just a dream. It was such fun, I want to see it just one more time.

Cute Happy Pokemon - Picture Gallery - Warm River / On the grass on a warm spring day, loafing around making their dream flowers bloom. Under the toasty sun on a warm afternoon, Pikachu and friends found a fun space in the middle of a field of flowers. What’s this? It’s soft and pleasantly warm. From here on it will be their secret place! They wont tell anyone.

But just as they said that, the soft mound started to move! “The cosy spot became angry!” / The cosy spot’s true form was the belly of Snorlax sleeping in the field of flowers.

“Let me in your guy’s secret place too!” / Magikarp’s waterfall climb. The events of a day with good weather. Pikachu met up with its water type friends who are having fun climbing the waterfalls. Goldeen and Seaking swiftly climbed the waterfall and said “Those that can barely splash surely can’t climb this waterfall.” Magikarp splashed and flopped repeatedly, and slowly but surely managed to climb up it.

Little easter egg I wouldn’t have discovered without @smpratte

This time Magikarp made it up the waterfall. As they watched, Magikarp became a Gyarados and soared up into the vast sky. “In this way it was just like flying through the sky!”

“From up here, rivers and waterfalls look so small don’t they?” / Summer.

Things that match its mother. One summer afternoon, Kangaskhan mother and child are strolling around. By the roadside a single flower has bloomed. This is a pretty flower, it would be great for its mother. Without much thought, the baby Kangaskhan quietly slipped out of its mother’s pocket. Jigglypuff: “Wow such a pretty flower would you like to trade it for my scarf?”
Baby Kangaskhan (BK): “I wonder if my mom would like that?”
Pikachu: “Want to trade your scarf for my hat?”
BK: “Wow now I’m so cool!”
Ekans: “It’s so hot, I’d like a hat. Want to trade for my ribbon?”
BK: “A ribbon would suit me too.”
Jinx: “I cut myself and it hurts.”
BK: “Oh that’s terrible! Here use this ribbon.”
Jinx: “Thank you!”
BK: “I also got a thank you gift, I wonder if this would be great for my mom. Wait a second…It’s gotten dark and I’m all alone, what should I do?!”
At that moment, from far away, the Kangaskhan mother’s voice was heard.

“You ran away without saying anything so I went searching for you.”
“I found a suitable gift mom!”
“Is that so? Thank you!”
“But really the most suitable gift for me is you, my son.”
“Oh for real?”

ピカチュウといこう ポケモンえにっき
or えにっき ピカチュウ

there seems to be some available on amazon as well, google - lets go with pikachu pokemon picture diary.

Also, there is a southern islands book by Fukuyama - ポケモンじまのなかまたち but that one you may need to be more patient on to find a good price. Seems it may be more rare.
