justinator has some Pikachus - Pikachu MERCH!?

Honestly it would probably take a bit less time… I’m sure there are Gengar promos but I highly doubt there are 600+ cards haha

Doing a quick bump - considered making it’s own thread since I’m sure not many people are checking this collection thread, but didn’t do it ultimately;

Does anyone have any information on who owns the matchprint Pikachu card aside from Rusty?
@garyis2000 / @fourthstartcg / @tonysandlin / @thecharizardauthorty - any ideas of who might have it or who might know who has it?

I know the matchprint “cards” aren’t truly cards but I’m very interested to see if the current owner of the Pikachu would be willing to sell. Rusty doesn’t want to part out his last set.

Big update to the website bump!

Did some [MORE] serious updating today.
My website I plan to showcase my collection on, using data from my spreadsheet, is coming along great.
I’ve updated the progress below:

justin.omniux.net/pokemon/

Home Page
Collection Page

  • Browse By Set
  • Browse By Language
  • View All
  • View my Needed Cards
  • View my For Sale Cards
    Card Search Page

Pretty Much Complete / Under Construction / Not Started

Fixed the issues:
side notes: the search page has two big issues I’m working to fix, and a minor inconvenience. The issues are:
-when you search, you need to not press enter - just type and let it filter in the results. Enter will reset you to the home page.
-the script displaying the thumbnails of cards is called LazyLoad and only triggers on page scroll. Most searches this will not be an issue but currently if your search returns less than about 10 cards, there won’t be enough to cause a screen scroll to be possible, meaning the thumbnails won’t load. Broaden your search if this is the case for now, until I find a solution.
the minor inconvenience will probably be obvious - I am loading the 500x694 images for the thumbnails as well as the full size images, so it takes a minute to load the thumbnails typically (and of course the images on click as well).

Clicking a search result will pull up a scan of the card and the cards information.

To-do:
Upload spreadsheet & section of site for Fake/Custom cards
Upload spreadsheet & section of site for Cards Containing Pikachu (not a priority)
Upload spreadsheet & section of site for Pikachu cards that are non-standard (ie Bandai Cardass, Topps, etc) (also not priority)

As before: Please let me know what you think! I’m always open to feedback, etc.

Cheers!

PS. For those viewing this post on Tapatalk, there is colored font in the website progress breakdown that doesn’t show

Got another in today!

Been waiting for a while for this one - already had the one without the stamp, and could only find them in pairs for the most part.

The artwork on that card is splendid!

Roaring Skies Pikachu, Build-A-Bear Promo Stamp

ポンチョを着たピカチュウ (Poncho-wearing Pikachu)

XY “Hoopa Special set” Pikachu, Korean Version

So underwhelmed by the English “promo variants” like this build-a-bear one… but hey it’s another Pikachu variation, so I have to get it!

Aww, the Build-a-Bear one is great!

It’s the third English variation of that same card though, they just stuck a different stamp on it… There are so many cool designs that could have been created for that promo, something English exclusive, or even another card that didn’t get quite as much “promo variant” love. Guess that’s just my opinion though!

I totally agree that they could do more with it. English promos are exceedingly lazy. Enough so that I almost wonder if there is some legitimate cost or obstacle to bringing more Japanese artwork to English print. But this could be me assuming everything has a reason.

McDonald’s is giving out that same variant with their logo stamped on it as well…

Exactly, that’s number two I was referring to.

I guess in reality there isn’t much of a difference on English vs Japanese for the Roaring Skies expansion, as Japan had three or so variations of the same pikachu card too. I don’t notice it as much though because Japan regularly gets exclusive promos.

Meh. (No) Thanks for the reminder that I need to purchase a complete McDonald’s 2016 promo set :stuck_out_tongue:

Bump again, made some more updates to my site!

You can now view the sub-collections of Fake Pikachu cards and Custom Pikachu cards!

Should have a few more new cards in hand in the coming week or so - purchases have been slow since I took time off to visit family over Christmas!

These extended thingsies are cool.

This collection is way cool! Great job!

Thank you bluey! It’s been a lot of work but a lot of fun too ~

Haven’t done a bump in a little while, but I thought this one was worth it!

Grey Stamp Pikachu (I’ve got another coming in the mail, as I wanted to get a few and determine if there was legitimacy vs not with any of them):

and one thing I’m super excited about:

Pikachu Expedition Matchprint:

HUGE thanks to @fritz for agreeing to sell this to me. I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to be able to get it for quite a while but it popped up a lot sooner than expected. Thanks again!

If anyone has any leads on a thin 1 stamped first ed pikachu from base set, please let me know~

Bumpity bump bump

Got two sealed products in!

First off is a sealed Topolino magazine from Italy with a Pikachu W stamp card.

The second is Volume 1 of Pokémon Trainer’s Magazine, released in Japan in May 1999. As you can see in the second picture, it still has the included (unpeeled) Snap Pikachu card.

I’d also like to add that I’ve added card illustrators into my spreadsheet and website so one can now search by artist when using my website to see all art by a certain illustrator.

I’m looking to add, in the near future, a portion of my website that basically serves as a “does Justin need my Pikachu card” tool. This would mean someone could walk through this “wizard” for lack of a better term and it would ask for some general details like card number, certain attributes, etc and from there it would ascertain if I needed the card and then would display my offered price for one. This will take some time as I not only have to design the page/process, but will also have to add a little more to my spreadsheet if I want additional searchable details (such as HP, attack information, etc) [not sure I’ll do that part, I’m undecided] and also what I would offer for a price on those that I’m still missing [this I will definitely be doing].

As always, let me know what you think! I’ll also restate that if anyone knows of a Pikachu with the thin “1” first edition stamped Base Pikachu somewhere, get in contact with me as I’m searching for one!

Awesome grey stamp! I think all the grey stamps are ‘thick’ 1st edition stamps, where did you score the grey?

I actually got both off of eBay, for relatively low prices. I don’t think their prices are really comparable to the Holos from the set, as I paid between $15 and $20 per. There was a third but the guy wouldn’t drop below like $50 so I just said forget it lol.

Can’t seem to find thin “1” first edition stamp Pikachu’s anywhere though. Been watching eBay like a hawk and nothing has come up for the last two months that I’ve seen.
