Maaaan, this brings back many memories. I used to watch your youtube channel when I first got back into Pokemon. Those were some great times watching slayerofmca, hisoka107, thorgene, thesmgquest, pokemonmaster556, happygengar, crackrockmcaib, fourthstartcg, and other I can’t think of right off the top of my head.

I was just starting my career so funds were limited, but watching those channels inspired me to collect sealed. Glad to see you’re using your collection to help achieve goals outside of Pokemon. Wish you the best of luck my friend!

Can you please provide a link for your channel? I have a similar path to how I built my collection but started much later with my own channel and funded my own purchases with sales from other purchases. I’m grateful for my collection and its value but I’m not ready to part with it yet. I’m lucky to be in a position where I don’t need to think about the value too much. If it helps you achieve some major life goals then that’s amazing. My hope is to one day let my collection fund a trip around the world in retirement.

Thank you Eevee  It means a lot coming from a stranger that feels so genuine. I have been working as a health professional in the health sector for the past decade and completed my master’s in between. Hopefully I still have enough energy in me to finish that PhD I dreamt of and doing other things I’ve always wanted to do. Can sure keep you guys updated but don’t know if everyone’s would be that interested haha.

Hey Iyleberr! Thank you for your kind message and well wishes. I wish the same for you too. I think, in the past, selling some of my childhood cards had helped me get a deposit for a house so I can say Pokemon did help me get a house too! Maybe if I can finish my PhD I’ll say that too haha. I do have quite a few theme decks but it was not part of the deal - I have some Base Set in Unlimited, Chinese, and a Sealed Preconstructed Box, and then some other vintage Japanese ones like Sabrina’s Yamabuki Deck with the middle finger card, and some EX era…etc just random decks here and there that I amassed over time

Hey Mr Elite Four! Ahahaha good question, well the other two thirds has some more sealed, some raw, some graded, some vintage, some modern, some English, some Japanese, umm Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Portugese. You know what? That didn’t really help answer your question, but I do have a bit here and there. I sort of just collected and never stopped through out the years. Like, when I sold this, I didn’t know how many EX era booster packs I had until I properly counted them. In the past, I kind of just didn’t think about counting, just buy and forget. Buy and forget. Thanks for the congratulations!! I am grateful and appreciative of it.

Hi ItemFinderCo person! Hahaha yes, I always tell this story. When I was a kid in high school doing minimum waged jobs (like fast food, warehouse, cleaning…etc) I saved up an entire summer’s worth of cash. I was given the opportunity to either buy 1 x First Edition Base Set Booster Box or 4 x Unlimited Base Set Booster Boxes for the same price. I went with the Unlimited because at the time, I just love cards and didn’t really care for the extra ā€œ1ā€ stamp on the card - to me it was the same. So, I opened four unlimited booster boxes and looking back, yeah if I had bought and then kept the First Edition, boy would that be something, but then I never would have the memories of opening and pulling like 4 or 5 base set charizards in one sitting… that was a core memory!

Hi again, what makes you say that? I honestly had a lot of trouble convincing myself to sell, But the buyer is a lovely person, and my friend who coordinated this convinced me as well. Thanks!

Ahahahaha that is so true. Hi Mihouse! You would not believe how much we pay for gas, electricity, and meat! Gosh darn, I just want to eat a good steak sometimes, then I look at the price at the supermarket and end up just frying some burger patties with butter haha.

Hi Parallax! Thank you for the well wishes and I was so glad I got to document my collection for one last time before I sold it! Everything took about a day of planning and then a day of bringing everything together to take a photo and prepare for the buyer to come! Thank you for enjoying the collection. I am happy. I wish the same for you too with your life goals.

Thanks ArcticLapras! I had been quite a lone silo kind of collector in the past that just kept on collecting and collecting. I still have some online receipts and invoices of when I bought a Neo Destiny Booster Box for $100 USD and having advertisements to buy EX Power Keepers for $60 USD shipped to me in New Zealand!

Hey CR4WD4UNT! Thank you for the well wishes. Hahaha! Actually during my 20s I used to buy broken down bikes, research and learn about them, fix them, ride them, and then sell. So, I think I had ridden over 20 different bikes in my lifetime so far including Ducati Monsters, Yamaha R6, Fireblades, ZX6Rs, GSXR750, CBR600RRs, and a couple of cruisers here and there. But, never an M 1000 RR! Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. I actually opened a mother load of Emerald back in my day, these were the left overs!

Hey fourthstartcg  I can’t believe a moderator on Elite Forum used to watch me! Those were the days, I would finish school, go to work, have dinner, do homework, then go to my bedroom and make videos for YouTube. What an honour that you watched. For sure, I hope selling would help change me life in more ways than I imagined, but to be frank, I was content with my life before already, though I am sure this would help me a little bit more

Hey MrBubbles  Thank you for commenting and I am happy to have showcased this part of my collection one last time! My entire collection…. is quite big  I wouldn’t know where to start. I am happy that there is a lot of love for my collection and I over these past few days. I am grateful. Thank you for the kind words. I hope my life can be a bit better than it was, though I am already quite content with my life prior to me selling, but either way I feel happy and honoured. I wish you success and happiness in your life too. If we meet somewhere in this world, let’s have a chat over a nice drink

Haha hey mrtonyz! To be honest, that’s how I feel whenever I look at someone else’s collection at the local card shops too. I like to enjoy and look at other people’s collection and appreciate them too!

Hey Zubat! (with a Christmas hat). Thanks for the well wishes  indeed! I sort of excelled in random parts of my life, I represented my state/region for sports during my 20s, and also do a bit of photography on the side for some extra cash…etc something like this, but I am a total nerd when it comes to Pokemon cards hahaha.
