Just for fun, predict grade before going to PSA

I’ve just posted my first package containing 4 cards to Ludkins UK who will then give their grade prediction before shipping the cards to PSA .
I’ve guessed the grade I think each card will receive based on my own assumptions and what I’ve learnt to look out for.
I think it will be interesting to see how close/far off my predictions will be.

1st card base set unlimited Venusaur.

I’m predicting a 6.

There is one fairly noticeable scratch and a few smaller ones on the holo but the front is otherwise very nice. The card has been cut slightly off which you’ll notice on the front left of the card.

Small amount of whitening, especially on the back lower corner.

2nd card base set unlimited charizard

Predicting another 6 with this one

A fair few scratches on the holo but otherwise a nice card.

Tiny amount of whitening, less than the venusaur.

3rd card, another base set unlimited charizard

I’m predicting an 8

Single scratch on the holo only visible at an angle.

Again very clean back tiny amount of whitening

4th card, Japanese gold star Rayquaza.

I’m predicting a 6

Front looks flawless. I can’t find a single scratch, mark or anything. Slightly off centering though.

The back let’s the card down with the 2 little indentations and would automatically make the card a 6 I’ve been told. Theres a tiny amount of whitening too.

I’ll post the grades Ludkins predict and then post the grades PSA give them.
Might be a long wait however,several months until I get them back maybe?

6,7,9,6 (only if punished for the indents, if not, an 8)

I’ll be optimistic and say: 7,7,9,6 (the indents are the only thing holding it back :/)

Predicted grades finally back from Ludkins:

Venusaur 7/8
Charizard 1) 7
Charizard 2) 8
Gold Star Rayquaza 8

So overall I under predicted, thinking the Venusaur would only fetch a 6 so I’m happy with a 7/8

Especially happy with the Rayquaza too, I thought that receive a huge bump down with the damage on the back, they obviously think not.

I’ve decided to ask they return the likely 7 Charizard and I feel I’m going to sell it on once I get it back.

I’m happy with the other Charizard getting an 8 and I had a feeling it would grade at that.

A 9 would have been fantastic as I would like the starters in a 9 and just need the Zard.

I know these are still only predictions so they still might not get the predicted grades but it’s a good starting point and proves that my own grading skills are not completely awful ha!
