Those shirts are cool! I especially like the first one.
And big congrats on completing the Metal Collection Figures set. I still can’t find the four missing Seviper figures anywhere… I also didn’t knew there were only four colors for that Dr. Oak + Muk figure. I figured there were five like my Seviper, but based on this picture (and I assume your own research) I guess the character figures didn’t include the shiny silver color.
And that manga is from the Natta Wake series, isn’t it? The one that included the Mankey. I used to have it as well, but I gifted it to my little brother when he started learning Japanese.
And love that drawing you’ve made, Devin! The purple on black really suits it, and I like that you’ve included a little Betobebii.
What a wonderful update! I always love reading through your posts and watching your slime army grow.
Congratulations on all of the merch, as well as the figures you’ve been hunting! I know how elusive some of those can be, and that certainly is a feat in and of itself to get not one, but both of the variants you were still looking for.
Your updates are always a great read, and I’m so happy for you and your collection!
@lamplamp the grimer sweater may be my favourite one of the clothes, it’s stylish and the slightly too big sizes only makes it more cozy!
@Quuador i’ve constantly been checking metal figure listings in hopes of finding even one of your seviper figures, i’m sure they’ll eventually surface exactly like my muk & oak figures did! But indeed i’ve come to conclusion that the silver variant doesn’t exist in this anime collection figure set, i’ve gone through masses of listings and these four variants are the ones that can be found, i’ve also talked with some sellers and collectors about it that all agree that this is the whole set.
And it’s indeed the natta wake manga! It also features some nice artwork and chapters featuring grimer in it but unfortunately my inability to understand japanese prevents me from enjoying the story side there.
@citriina thank you for your compliments, always nice to hear them from a fellow species collector i’m still amazed how the figure hunt ended up coming together in addition to everything else it tied together!
Suuuuuch a unique update from the world’s preeminent slime man. Phew!
That shirt is ridiculous, my lord is it sweet. But I mean… that sweater might be even cooler…
Haha! Should have figured Europeans view large differently than Americans. I mean, you have seen the average size of an american right? Yeah. I honestly can’t believe how cool some of these items are. So glad the og show had oak with muk so often at his lab. It’s for that you have those rad figurines. They could be chess pieces or pokemon monopoly pieces. Really cool. Glad Devin was able to help you out in getting everything, that’s what friends are for but then it is so like him to throw in all the gifts to boot. The guy is just so selfless. Awesome items! Azul with the ace, such a fitting card!
Great update! And it’s always feels good and is heart-warming to hear collectors helping each other out The Venom Drench ones are my favorite amongst the merch, and the really shiny gold Oak+Muk is my favorite variant there (it’s really bright looking). It’s too bad Grimer didn’t have a Natte Wake card (or cameo), as there probably aren’t many interpretations of the slime that make him look as cute as he does on that manga!
@brendantheclayboy can’t agree more both with the coolness of items and selflessness of Azulryu
@bbobrob it’s impossible to get any good photos of the gold figure since it’s so shiny, i have to say i might like others a tiny bit more since their details can be seen in a whole different level on them, but on the other hand if you can have your favourite figure in pure gold shininess who wouldn’t take it?
Aww man, no thanks needed. I was just wicked happy I could help and truth be told, I had been keeping a little baggy of things any time I came across a Grimer/Muk item in the lots I would receive. I knew that they had to go to your collection - it was a no brainer then to help middleman since it would be the perfect surprise. And since you’re a family man, it only made sense to include them in it as well. You’ve helped me so many times in the past throughout the years including with a card I needed most recently. I couldn’t imagine them going to anyone else, just really happy you could have a Grimer/Muk filled package.
Also I absolutely love your focus on the metal figures and am excited to see them all together finally! Looking forward to seeing your display readjustment.
Definitely wanted to write properly the whole process, the experience was absolutely wholesome i’m glad helping hands have gone in both ways and even though helping isn’t any competition i feel like my help has been small fish especially after this experience about display, i’ve been meaning to post an update of it but just waiting for few things to arrive!
I have a huge backlog of photos i haven’t added in this thread from well over a year now so i’m finally trying to catch up with posting them. I try to do it somewhat logically but the photos i’ve taken during that time are a bit all over the place and since all this stuff is already either in binder, display or stored away i rather try to make good use of those photos already existing instead of taking new ones. I originally intended this thread as a sort of diary where i can check timestamps for items when i’ve gotten them but it obviously didn’t happen exactly like that, anyway i like it that basically all my slime additions are documented here so i try to continue with that even if the time posted isn’t very close to obtaining it. I’m hoping to catch up with my backlog during next few weeks so let’s see how that plan goes!
I’ll start with figures since they atm feel like the most concrete form of slime army. The best part first, i already posted the full quartet of Oak & Muk figures but here they are alongside with other figures that were obtained during the same time period, again huge thanks for both @Quuador and @azulryu for them! In the same photos also are two metal figures from @cardstockpile so big thanks to them too, a celebration time always when a new colour is added!
Other very big addition was this to my knowledge last official slime figure i was missing, even if it’s kinda odd one, an alolan muk popsicle figure from pokemol tropical sweets campaign in the same photo also a new variant of finger puppet muk, not sure how many variants exist but i now have 5 across both grimer and muk. Also in the second photo i found not one but two new box variants for alolan muk battle figure, they are very nice display pieces so happy to get more of them regardless of them requiring quite a lot of space.
In these last photos other figure additions, most notable ones being again metal figures with new colours or condition upgrades but also my other favourites, keshi figures with a bunch of new colour variants of them too. I also added a metal figure with silver-ish colour in the photos since i tried my luck with it but it’s actually just a green one where someone had scraped the colours off. Also some non-figure ones included in photos too like the meiji cardboard die and the banpresto battle chip sheet, very happy with those additions too!
I agree with @lyleberr. Every time I see some of these metal figures, I’m tempted to start collecting them. The colors they chose are really nice and vibrant. The colors for the keshi figures are fun too—they look like little gummy candies!
Absolutely love the display of all the figures. And that popsicle one is so good! I want more creative pieces like that. They’ve made some Magikarp Koinobori figures but so far no Gyarados.
Really glad so many folks could help out. Seeing the metal figures together is a teeasure. Also for the stamo - I believe there are at least 3 color variants, pink/red, blue, and green.
It’s funny you mention the stamps, i was just discussing them today with nidokingdom on ig and took photos of my stamps for him, i was under impression that there were four variants but apparently the one i thought was red is just a worn out pink one, i’ll still be keeping my four grimer stamps in display for now since it looks very nice with the 3 actual colour variants, at least i can give up hunting any additional muk stamps
Another batch of items from my backlog. First this magazine @Ratequaza helped me to get, i’m a big fan of alolan muk getting a part in new pokemon anime but a lot of merch of it seems to be quite difficult to find. Luckily this poster was released with official pokemon magazine and while it wasn’t released in finland i’m glad i could get help obtaining it! Still contemplating if it want to keep the poster attached to the magazine or separate it.
Next a very exciting one since afaik these are the last official poker cards made of grimer and muk i needed, i do have two more in my middleman service so i don’t have all of them in hand yet but these solgaleo back cards were the last i needed to hunt down, even mpre exciting that they included both alolan and kanto versions of slime in same product. I did have some problems with them since when i bought the muk card (which was the last one i needed) the seller accidentally sent me a corresponding grimer card instead and i didn’t even realise it until taking photos already few weeks later, luckily the seller still had the right card too and was honest enough to send it too, even if messaging with them was kinda stressing since the answers from the seller took sometimes days so i wasn’t ever sure if they just decided to ghost me.
Then an interesting one, there’s a lot of debate if funskool cards are official or not but they are very fun concept nevertheless. What i’ve learned from @Quuador is that no other variants of slime were ever produced in those sets so this is the only one i need to get. It didn’t actually even require any searching since earlier a certain member here () gifted it to me. I kinda felt bad for him since he seemed very concerned if i received it but since i had it sent in my middleman service which i very rarely empty i only got scans of the card and never got it in hand before he vanished from E4.
Then one of my favourite obscure items, a yoga grimer/muk hologram that was received with yoghurt in Italy, not only is it random but the set also was huge and included multiple variants of many pokemon. Grimer/muk had two variants and with this one i now have them both. This too tho had some shipping issues since a person from Italy who actually informed me about all the different variants had an extra copy of this hologram and promised to send it to me but immediately ghosted me after that, luckily managed to find another copy some time later.
And lastly for this post this appendix mini card from an unknown magazine that i received from @nidokingdom , really love the fact that it’s an unique artwork even tho it’s showing the same battle that’s also presented in the bandai anime cards. Usually it’s just the same stock artworks repeating in different products so it’s a treat to find something different
The poker card with the two Grimer and Muk versions is pretty cool! And of course, the rainbow in-between is just the cherry on top. Because rainbows make everything better
