I see it now! Thank you so much!
I sent my playtest cards back to CGC today. I don’t really think i could have gained any major benefits by waiting since as an European my legal options are quite limited even if i would face any issues, so i rather just had it out of the way. This was a sad experience and it has already shaped how i approach collecting in future, i hope i can at some point leave all this in past. There are more major things in my life and i’m grateful for all the good things but nevertheless this is still gnawing me a lot. It was an incredible few months thinking i own something unique and historical and i appreciate everyone joining my happiness. I’ve edited my original post about this but i’ll otherwise leave it up as it was
Wishing you all the best with return process, this CGC playtest scandal hasn’t been easy to follow even for people who haven’t spent single penny for them.
Luckily there’s always other things to do, potentially new Grimer/Muk cards on the horizon once that new Team Rocket set arrives and hunt for Cosmos foil Fossil Muk keeps you surely busy just like before. ![]()
This threads are the reason I’m so happy to be in this forum! I love your collection an dedication.
If you know any artist in your area you could ask to customize the cover of your binder with a Grimer/Muk artwork ![]()
Soon I’ll create a showcase for my Porygon collection.
I was super stoked for you when you shared the info and equally if not more disappointed when the whole thing was exposed. I have followed your collection journey through this thread and interactions with you and I know how passionate you are about collecting slime.
I really hope for you and everyone involved the best possible outcome, I truly do. I am glad that you are also looking forward while focusing on the good rather than the unpleasant. It is a great attitude to have.
Cheers!
@Taigataipan thank you, yes it’s luckily true that in collection goal like this there will always be something to chase so this doesn’t affect that, hopefully the return goes smoothly and eventually refunds are handed too
@Kratosso thank you! It keeps delighting me whenever my collection inspires someone else, looking forward to you sharing your species collection! I do have some custom art made but i prefer my binders to have uniform looks, i have plans to at some point contact a local artist for another art piece tho!
@mrbubbles thank you for kind words, one of my favourite things in E4 has been your kindness towards other collectors so i know you really mean those words and i deeply appreciate them. Even if this is a speed bump now i’m sure i’ll have numerous good moments regarding collecting in future
Man that’s a sad picture. Gutted for you.
Painful to see the Hahbee
evolve in such a way that has led even one of its founders to be part of something this shitty ![]()
Personal life hasn’t been easy and i haven’t bought much lately but wanted to share some additions from the first months of this year. First some tcg as i wanted to have both chinese 151 reverse holo variants and grabbed non holo copies too to make nice full binder page rows of them
Then like my style goes a bunch of non-tcg items. In first photo a pog i wasn’t aware of that @Quuador kindly informed me about and even linked me listings for both loose copy and unpunched sheet. Next to the loose pog a bootleg muk figure that i found when we went through some flea market mini figures with my kid, for 1€ per piece it was a fun random purchase. In second photo a sticker sheet that i searched for a long time as all the copies i found for sale had way too big price tag for what it is, but glad to now remove it from my wants as it will make a great background display item when opened when i finally rearrange my display cabinet a bit
Then two really obsucre ones to close it, first what i assume is a seat cover with some nice pixel art, my boys even are visible when it’s folded but when opened it shows a lot of other nice pixel friends too. And in the last photos a thermos bottle from the tropical sweets campaign, i think as a campaign regarding slime items it’s in the top 3 of most random ones since alolan muk is shown as a popsicle in the campaign. In all randomness it’s such a lovely item to get from the campaign in addition to the figure and clear file that i already had, hoping to find some room to add it too in my display
Brilliant update. So many great items. I particularly like that phone case.
Great update!
You’re really seaching for the slimes everywhere! Every tiny detail!
A highlight page where i recently added cards when i received my signature exchange package, these are not all slime related custom cards i’ve gotten but it’s a good bunch of them and all great ones, thanks @viridian @citriina @SeasidePokemon @azulryu @Metapod_museum @Quuador @Mr.Garrison @emseasqrd for your efforts so i can have these one of a kind slime cards ![]()
I think of all the sketches I attempted, yours was my favorite. I’m really glad you liked it!!
I love seeing all of the signatures and sketches together! Happy to see the one I sent in the mix!
Glad I could give you your own little MtG painted card haha! Thanks also for your continued support of my MTG thread.
I’ve had these pokemon go updates every now and then so making another one now, but this time i’m posting what is most likely my last complete pokemon go slime army update. I’ve finally managed to get the shadow and purified shiny alolan slime as best buddys and i maxed them immediately when that was done, so i again have my lvl 50 best buddy everything slime pokemon go goal completed. I’m hoping they don’t add any new variants soon as it will be the first one where i’ll skip the shiny hunt so the collection isn’t going to be completed anymore after this, the grind just isn’t as fun (or even possible) anymore. They are currently introducing the hyper training in pokemon go where you can max your iv:s and while i would love to slowly do that to all my slimes in these pics it looks like the feature is behind a heavy paywall which i really don’t fancy paying. I’ll anyway add here a pic of all my 100iv slime too since they are all naturally obtained, let’s see if i’ll manage to train a bunch of new ones in future but at least i got this many before you could affect the iv:s yourself
Wow! Really impressive! Are those real postage stamps in the last few photos? If yes, you should find someone to send you a letter with them for a stamped version.
Thanks! And they are not, just mimicing real stamps
that would be nice combo tho, one of the post cards featuring grimer/muk sent with a stamp featuring grimer/muk!
This christmas miracle i was then hoping actually happened.
I was already sure that topps chrome sparkle muk was my last big grail to hunt but apparently things change. Cosmos foil fossil muk was a card that i already abandoned as a too pricy one as its value was easily multiple times more what i had earlier paid for a card, but it never stopped haunting me. To those who don’t know what the card is, it’s part of the wotc test print for cosmos foil as that holo pattern wasn’t used for the first English sets, and as one ig collector has gathered several years worth of data there’s only 7-13 known copies for each fossil holo, muk having 8 confirmed copies. After a long time of struggling with the idea i finally made a decission to abandon some goals, sell a good bunch of cards and save money for about a year to make that dream possible. And after i was done with the funds i made that wtb thread and started contacting people more seriously. That mission was quite filled with dead ends until i saw the message i was hoping to see, after first declining my offer around a year earlier one collector messaged me back that he after all was willing to let his copy go. He was actually one of the first people i originally messaged when i was still in the process of gathering the funds and the final deal with him happened very shortly after my last bump in that wtb thread giving me the christmas miracle i asked for. As i had prepared myself for a multi year wait like i had experienced with my precious sparkle muk it really felt like not even that long wait, even when including all the time preparing the funds to make the purchase possible.
I’m once again in gratitude for @bbobrob as he agreed to middleman the card for me. He at first held the card for me some months as we were planning that he’d later send me multiple things in at once. But this year hasn’t been very gentle for me as first happened the playtest card saga where, like seen some posts above, i was involved too and after that some massive personal life issues started happening, so i wanted something to be happy about and asked bbobrob to send the card home.
And it is an incredible feeling to have the card finally in hand. I had naturally receiced a lot of photos of the card beforehand but no photo could prepare me how the card actually looks when you hold it. I really love different kinds of holo patterns and the iconic cosmos foil is tough to beat. I’m also extremely fascinated of the history of the card and i’ve talked a lot with other collectors about what this test print was all about and what info has been gathered about it.
It’s not an official release but only now it really feels like i finally have all the English slime cards so it certainly was worth all the sacrifices and waiting. I tried to take some photos in good natural light so you could catch even a fraction of the feeling of admiring the holo with the actual card. Behold what is almost certainly the biggest single card i’ll ever own.
This is an incredible update, congratulations @joponnes I’m so happy for you!!!
Dude. This is so incredible. First off, I’m super stoked for the slime boy, the best dude to get this card in world — and I mean that.
Second, daaaaamn does that card look fresh. It’s just more mystical and candylicious than the european ones. Something about seeing the english and the cosmos together just does something so different that can’t be achieved or replicated with the foreign languages.
It also looks great, this copy! Wonder if you’ll be getting it outta the plastic on this but would understand if you didn’t want to do that. I too dream of getting just one cosmos, and I’m probs with you on muk being one of the better in fossil. Honestly, it’s funny but I’d argue that single card — normal set — is the most under appreciated and undervalued card you can basically get in pokemon. Sold a spare muk the other day and it took a while to even sell for $5 and it was pretty clean. Absolutely wild these pokemon folk, but you and I know the true secrets of fortune and happiness my friend. Long live the slime! Long live the greatness of the fossil muk!
Super congrats on obtaining this brother this update is friggin awesome!
Also big thanks to our boy b to the bob for being the guy to help you on that; we all know he’s an absolute G.
