Jopo's slime army

This christmas miracle i was then hoping actually happened.

I was already sure that topps chrome sparkle muk was my last big grail to hunt but apparently things change. Cosmos foil fossil muk was a card that i already abandoned as a too pricy one as its value was easily multiple times more what i had earlier paid for a card, but it never stopped haunting me. To those who don’t know what the card is, it’s part of the wotc test print for cosmos foil as that holo pattern wasn’t used for the first English sets, and as one ig collector has gathered several years worth of data there’s only 7-13 known copies for each fossil holo, muk having 8 confirmed copies. After a long time of struggling with the idea i finally made a decission to abandon some goals, sell a good bunch of cards and save money for about a year to make that dream possible. And after i was done with the funds i made that wtb thread and started contacting people more seriously. That mission was quite filled with dead ends until i saw the message i was hoping to see, after first declining my offer around a year earlier one collector messaged me back that he after all was willing to let his copy go. He was actually one of the first people i originally messaged when i was still in the process of gathering the funds and the final deal with him happened very shortly after my last bump in that wtb thread giving me the christmas miracle i asked for. As i had prepared myself for a multi year wait like i had experienced with my precious sparkle muk it really felt like not even that long wait, even when including all the time preparing the funds to make the purchase possible.

I’m once again in gratitude for @bbobrob as he agreed to middleman the card for me. He at first held the card for me some months as we were planning that he’d later send me multiple things in at once. But this year hasn’t been very gentle for me as first happened the playtest card saga where, like seen some posts above, i was involved too and after that some massive personal life issues started happening, so i wanted something to be happy about and asked bbobrob to send the card home.

And it is an incredible feeling to have the card finally in hand. I had naturally receiced a lot of photos of the card beforehand but no photo could prepare me how the card actually looks when you hold it. I really love different kinds of holo patterns and the iconic cosmos foil is tough to beat. I’m also extremely fascinated of the history of the card and i’ve talked a lot with other collectors about what this test print was all about and what info has been gathered about it.

It’s not an official release but only now it really feels like i finally have all the English slime cards so it certainly was worth all the sacrifices and waiting. I tried to take some photos in good natural light so you could catch even a fraction of the feeling of admiring the holo with the actual card. Behold what is almost certainly the biggest single card i’ll ever own.
