Japanese Vending Series

it seems to me that vending series has been so underrated, the artwork is good and they r japanese exclusive, printed years and years ago, but the price of them still seem to be quite low, i’m thinking if vending series will ever get the attention they deserve or the price of them will increase, any thoughts?

I would personally not “invest” in $3 cards. If you like them, go for it. It’s ok to buy something that will not necessarily have a significant financial return

I personally really like them because of the artwork but I do not expect to make a profit on them.

Easily some of the best artwork in the hobby, but I wouldn’t expect significant price increases. I’ve graded a ton and sell my duplicates. I have some PSA 9s that sit at $9.99 with free shipping and don’t sell. The cards are great value purchases, but not great investment purchases.

I love them too! Recently completed a full binder set, was very economical. As others have stated, not sure the price will ever boom but I will love my set of them for a long time to come

I knew these cards weren’t fetching top dollar but, in my opinion, these prices are actually quite a steal for such gorgeous cards. Perhaps it’s time to start a new binder collection…

Just completed mine and I can definitely recommend to include them in your collection

I would really love to collect the vending series just for myself in a binder. Where do you recommend buying them? I haven’t seen any vending cards on TCGplayer. They are on eBay, but is there anywhere else you would recommend?

And how much do you think someone would spend (just a ballpark guess) on the three vending sets? You guys say it is economical, but I know that means something different to everyone.

Thank you so much ahead of time for your response.

@electrode101,

Yeah, eBay is the way to go unless people want to sell you some here on E4. Set up a buy thread but you have to state what you’ll pay per E4 rules. Do a little research for prices.

i would say ebay is the place to buy them

I got all mine from eBay personally, but I’ve learned recently you would probably be better off posting in the Buy/Trade area and trying to get them from other members here. You’ll get more at once instead of buying them one at a time, they’ll likely be cheaper, and you’ll be supporting members here.

All that being said, looking at my spreadsheet it looks like this is the cost breakdown for how much I spent.
Vending Series 1 - $160 USD
Vending Series 2 - $190 USD
Vending Series 3 - $222 USD

Looking on eBay this morning, I see a lot of complete/near complete sets that are selling for well under what I paid, though, so ymmv.

Thanks! That helps out alot to have an estimate of how much they cost. I’ll have to start saving!!

Totally in agreement with you. I love these cards and I think they look great, it’s unfortunate that they aren’t fetching a higher price.

I have no idea about their rarity in numbers, but my guess is their low cost is a partially a result of lack of nostalgia. I mean, what drives the market? We talk about this all the time. Scarcity? Nostalgia? Quality of images, effectiveness in a deck?
