Title. Is this real? I’m leaning toward no, but I don’t have a good reason beyond “smells like bullshit,” in large part because the listing is scant on detail. I’m not great at spotting counterfeit sealed product even when it’s a well-known widespread item (despite being a passionate sealed collector), so if this is a super blatant fake, feel free to call me an idiot or something. If this is legit or might be legit, is there any sale history or history of acknowledgment by WOTC employees or anything of the sort? Prototype sealed product is essentially nonexistent, so I’m pretty intrigued.
I have been meaning to do my own video on this. Some people speculate the very rare error 1st edition league promo pikachu was an intended secret rare because of what the wrapper says on the front. It makes sense given how odd an error it actually is.
Probably just filler cards, or actual cards. Who knows? Maybe it’s a bunch of 1st Edition Base Charizards they did for that one test print? Rusty did think there might be a Base pack inside. Maybe it’s a bunch of Prototoise cards? Blank cards? Or maybe Pkonno stuck some extra Illustrators in there as a gag just to see if anyone would open it and strike gold. Maybe it’s a picture of Sugimori holding a thumbs up.
