The color on the back looks fake af
Can someone explain why the HP and Set Number wouldnât also âshiftâ?
Yep, with the new pic of the back I have to correct myself and also say itâs fake.
Colors and general âsharpnessâ of the letters just look off.
Yeah ok I double checked against the other jungle cards and it looks different, I am still pretty sure I got it in a pack, but Itâs been too long to remember correctly maybe my mind trick me.
Anyway thanks guys for the answers appreciate the experts opinions.
@gabe , you could have easily pulled it from a pack. Fake packs with fake cards were rampant back in the day. Just as they are today. You may be remembering correctly. You said you were from Italy? Makes even more sense.
The text on the front is pretty good for a fake imo! The only thing that really stood out as being off as far as the text goes is the 20/64
Definitely a fake, itâs pretty obvious if you look at the â20/64â set number, the spacing and the font look wayyy off to me.
Sorry got a last question, I am checking my collection for further fakes and the only other I have a bit of perplexity about this Charizard:
The yellow border looks a little bit too yellow, not sure if thatâs matter
front:
back:
The back on this one looks the same compared to other cards, and font etc match with my other 2 Charizards (100% legit)
@gabe, thatâs a real card
Just so you know, @gabe , color saturation and differences is completely normal. Looking for fakes is card stock, textures within, font size or shape, lack of sharpness in uniform ways, etc.
But when, in this case, others mention off-color, they mean so off that it was not a true color tone used in authentic card printingâthat said, it is NEVER the sole sign of a fake, so you donât need to memorize that necessarily.
When printing, they had many different runs come out with different coloration or tints/shades, while being obviously 100% authentic.
Check this out:
Not only are they different colors and shades, the same applies to borders on WOTC cards. Hope this eases your concern in your scanning of your cards.
Thatâs a great answer!
Thanks for taking the time explaining, seems there I still have quite a bit to learn
Jolteon is fake.
I thought this was just a super blurry photo at first lmao
Yeah that back looks fake for sure. I have a misaligned print error of similar nature. But you often see them much more subtle that what you saw with this jolteon. Graded by CGC of course. Notice the fuzziness on the text and jigglypuff stage box.
Wow in Italy we say SVARIONI
How come the card number in the bottom right doesnât have a duplicate print?
