I’ve been doing some research for awhile into the last card I need for my 2009 Domino’s set but been stuck on this trying to figure it out. Poke Beach talked about this card being holo and PSA lists both versions with two different Pop reports. Did Pokemon change their mind on making this card Holo or am I just blind? lol
I’m pretty sure the 028/L-P Slowpoke is always non-Holo and the 029/L-P Slowbro is always holo. I’ve never seen a holo Slowpoke L-P promo before, although I must admit I haven’t looked that much at it.
Not sure about PokéBeach, but PSA listing it as a holo is just PSA being PSA… I’ve seen a Japanese Bulbasaur Deck cards labeled as a SwSh Marnie Full Art; a Pichu labeled as Raichu; and a French Nidoking labeled as German (in the middle). Mistakes happen.
One interesting thing about this L-P Slowpoke, there are two different versions. One with the Japanese text for Basic in bold, and the other in a black text balloon that was common throughout the HGSS era. The first was given during the Domino’s Pizza promotion between October 26th and December 10th, 2009 (customers received this promo; the Slowbro; and a Domino’z Pizza Original Book of Secrets), and the second was given between December 11th, 2009 and January 14th, 2010 (customers received this corrected promo; the Slowbro; and a set of card sleeves).
