If having ‘Sports Authenticators’ on your card doesn’t feel right to you then that is fine, everyone is entitled to not liking something. But just know that it seems like a really stupid and petty reason to most people. So that’s why you are copping so much shit, because it makes you sound childish. If your issues were with their grading standards, or negative impacts PSA had on the hobby then you’d have a few supporters and more understanding from everyone here.
Also there are plenty of ways you can display your cards in PSA cases.
I mentioned earlier. Becketts Grading Service (BGS) doesn’t mention “sports”. There you go. Problem solved.
Lastly, I think you’d have to be an ignorant little girl to put cards in a cheap, junk, top loader binder. Come on…man up and get with the program. Spend some money. This is the big leagues. Put up or slink away back to the minors like PokeBeach/Gym.
Hah, go ahead keep your cards all boxed up in sports card cases. Im good. Put your diamond in a baseball holder why dont you muahaha! ok rant over, this was fun, smell ya later!
Actually, I was thinking that Pokemon WAS a sport. Back in 1999 you don’t realize all the running around it took to find base packs. It was run here, run there, run everywhere. Quite the competition amongst other parents and kids. You could call us sprinters.
I dont think so, i didnt have to run at all i just walked up to the packs to be honest. I understand you guys have every single card in baseball card holders but, thats not my fault.
I hope you guys dont stop your ways of collecting, im just trying to get the point that pokémon cards are not sports cards across.
A sport by definition is a physical exertion for entertainment, I don’t think anyone has even tried to argue that they are sports cards anything more than jokingly, I also noticed the quote of you saying you are sending cards in to be graded, what has changed from that point until now to make you change your mind? They were called psa before so nothing has actually changed?
I really really still don’t see your problem with the word sport(s)? Also as for stating they aren’t sports card, most of us collect rather than play anyway so the point wasn’t really getting confused by anyone in the first place as the only argument for it being one is the tcg element of the cards. Sorry if it feels like I’m attacking you but I really have to know why you have such an issue with the word?
I think it’s about time that we let this go and just accept that @missingno has a differing opinion than most of us do and leave it at that. No need to dissuade anyone from being apart of this community. Remember we are a collective that is geared toward the love of Pokemon, a passion which we all share.
Alright. This has probably been said before, but whatever. First, PSA grades all types of cards. Sports cards and memorabilia are their biggest market, hence Professional SPORTS Authenticators. However, they also grade hundreds if not thousands of different types of gaming, anime, movie, and TV trading cards. They are CARD graders, not exclusively SPORTS graders. They are the biggest name in the grading community in general, and by far the biggest in Pokemon. Challenging the thousands of people who grade Pokemon cards is useless. You may have your opinion of course, but do not say that PSA shouldn’t grade our cards, because they do. End of story. No argument.
Next, it seems you take issue with the many variants of Pokemon cards out there. That’s a valid point, but you need to realize that that’s part of the fun of collecting for some of us. You may not enjoy it, so then you only need to get one version and call it quits for that card. Collect the way YOU want to, not the way others do. And don’t get mad at or demean those people who do go after variants, because we find it fun.
Back to your issues on PSA cards. If you don’t like graded cards, don’t buy them. Again, collect the way you want to. Just because others collect graded cards doesn’t mean you have to. And your last point is purely ignorant. By your logic, we should never buy cards, graded or non-graded, that we didn’t pull ourselves. Again, you can have your opinion, but don’t force it on others. I have many cards in my collection that I didn’t pull myself that I have sentimental attachments to. Those cards do not “mean crap.” They are as valuable to me as the ones I did pull.
I just wanted a fiery folder icon, now that i have it you guys can settle down. Im actually sending all my charizards to PSA. Just wanted to see if that sports word bothered anybody else and in the process i manipulated the subject to increase the popularity of my post. You guys are great people btw, very dedicated. Definitely making this the Ultimate Pokemon Card Collectors Club.
