Is Pokemon A Sport?

How does the card cases, grading or what others like to collect affect you in any way, shape or form? There are plenty of raw cards out there for you to purchase.

I’m just going to throw this in here…

While I respect your opinion on graded cards, keep in mind that there are many users here who also grade their own collections. No one is telling you that you do or don’t need to grade, nor does it matter. The cool thing about collecting is that everyone has their own interests and their collections reflect that. I think your best bet is to ignore graded cards. PSA isn’t just going to change their name overnight for grading collectible cards. Their main hub is sports, but they do grade more than Pokémon for collectables too.

Why would I be pissed that my cases are protected by the worlds leading sports authenticators. I don’t understand…

Honestly if i got handed a stack of psa cased cards i would crack them open and put them in my Pokémon Binder, just saying.

The smart thing to do would be to sell them and buy raw cards…

It’s not unusual for companies to branch out and grow. Oh wait. That’s what ALL successful company’s do lol.

But they would already be in my hands…

Hence why Dominoes is not Dominoes Pizza any more…exactly.

Okay this discussion seems to be getting out of hand. If you choose to grade, great. If you choose to not grade, great as well. We accept all kinds of collections here on the forum and there is no reason to argue about this. Like I said above everyone has their own unique collections and budgets they are willing to spend on this hobby.

Have a nice night all.

Feel free to continue to discuss this, but chill out. Haha. I think we all know when to laugh off something outlandish.

Thanks.

This, this and more this. Like I really don’t get your issue with the sports part of their name, it’s like saying you would be fine if they added “oh and non sports too” onto their company name? As for cases getting scratched, I keep mine in perfect fit team bags and are literally there to prevent what you are complaining about, they aren’t expensive St all either. As for 1st ed, print runs are different released for different amouns of time too, there is an actual reason 1st ed cards are more expensive beyond just that stamp… The buying graded cards thing just isn’t an issue I don’t see why you are trying to essentially say other people’s collections are not as good I your eyes because you don’t like psa cards? They still have the cards they are just in cases for better protection and then to put a number on a label on the top, it doesnt take anything away from the actual cards inside yhe cases though? Have you ever thought about the people who simply can’t send their cards to psa themselves and don’t trust others to do so and therefore cant/won’t use a middleman? Is your main issue on the price increase

In summary, the company name doesn’t matter, variations of the same card are valued differently for a good reason and if you don’t wanna collect psa cards then simply don’t.

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”

Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

The name of something doesn’t affect what they are as an entity or what they are capable of. If names of companies solely determined what line of business they were allowed to participate in, then Walmart would only be allowed to sell…walls :stuck_out_tongue:

By that logic, shouldn’t you take issue with PSA because they are grading cards, when their company’s name states that they are “Authenticators” not “Graders and Authenticators”?

Anyway, I feel the others on this site have done enough to demonstrate that opinions are opinions and to let people collect as they wish to collect.

Why did my title get changed…and i think im sticking to toploader binders. I was gonna get my cards graded but i dont feel comfortable having them in a case that says sports authenticators. Also i wouldnt want to have them in a box when i can have them in a book like matter.

Im not telling you guys what actions to take, just an opinion. Maybe you guys felt the same i dont know. But obviously you guys love your cards to say tht they got graded by sports authenticators, its cool i get it.

Haha “walmart would only sell walls” that was so ignorant it was hilarious.
