I opened a 1st ed gym challenge pack recently and pulled a LT Surge Raichu holo. It has holo bleed throughout all of the card except the yellow borders. Graded it and it got a 10 so i know it isnt damage or anything. Has anyone seen that with this set before?

I haven’t seen any Gym Challenge holo bleeds before, so I’d say it’s not normal. At least, not in comparison to sets which are known for loads of holo bleeds like Secret Wonders or XY Evolutions. Still, holo bleeds can happen in any set and on any holofoil card. I recently sold a holo bleed Base Set card, and I have a couple of holo bleed Pikachus in my collection, in various sets and languages (i.e. POP9 French Pikachu; German McDonald’s 2019 Pikachu; English POP5 Pikachu (both the error and corrected back version) both with Holo Bleed; Japanese 113/DP-P promo Pikachu; etc. etc.). Holo bleeds, miscuts, off-centered cards, ink drops/blobs, square cuts, etc. are all errors which can potentially happen on almost any card.
Oh, and do you have a picture of it? Would love to see how extreme the holo bleed is on your Raichu.

Holo bleed isnt normal on any wotc set, it’s a pretty infrequent phenomenon. That’s awesome you have one that graded a 10! The only other holo bleed I have seen from the gym sets is an Erika, it was on ebay. It wasnt super prevalent like yours sounds like its described, but it was definitely noticeable.

Its deff nice to know theres another gym card out there like it. Never seem holo bleed on any wotc cards but i havent seen every card that exists either so who knows lol i pulled a blaine from another pack out of the same box and no holo bleed

I’ve noticed holo bleeds in Neo Revelation more than any other set, where they are relatively common (key word: relatively), but yeah; definitely not the norm. Always an awesome find (and beautiful).

Here is a link for the youtube video. Not even sure if you can see it but it seems impossible to catch on film lol lots of little silver holo speckles all over. I think the most noticeable spot is between the weakness and colorless energy symbol. Let me know if its even possible to see lol

It’s super hard to tell from the video sadly. PSA cases always make it harder to see holo bleeds unless its like super duper holo bleed. For whatever reason a camera makes it even worse too.

Holo bleeds on the text portion of the card isnt common with neo rev, just the artwork part. Right? I cant recall ever seeing a neon rev holo having that happen
Yea i tried but like ya said, filming shit like that is tough, especially in a psa case. Its not insane holo bleed but in person it is incredibly noticeable.
Yeah just the artwork. I’ve noticed it with Houndoom and Misdreavus (actually had a holo bleed Misdreavus that I sold).
