I’m new to this forum and like to share something I’ve noticed. Growing up, my favorite photographer was Daido Moriyama based in Japan. His photos were always black and white, mostly street and heavily saturated. They always gave this grunge look to them and were very private and uncomfortable.
Fast forward and I stumble upon Hikaru Koike’s illustrated Pokemon cards and I fell in love yet again. His work is heavily saturated, very up close to the Pokemon and gave also that grunge feel to them.
When you turn the Pokemon cards to black and white and set them side by side with Mr. Moriyama’s work, they almost look identical!
Anyways, I had to share! As of now, trying my best to complete all of Mr. Koike’s Pokemon.
