Correct, not all long packs are shadowless like you said. The front of the pack must say “11 Tradeable Game Cards” instead of “11 Additional Game Cards” and the “Trading Card Game” will be located on the bottom of the pack, not the top. You just have an unlimited long seal pack.
Curious if anyone has any info on this. If you have a booster box and one pack is either shadowless or non will every pack be like that? Or can there be both shadowless and non shadowless packs from the same booster box? Any info is appreciated, thanks !
A base set booster box will contain either 36 packs of 1st edition (shadowless), 36 packs of shadowless, or 36 packs of non-shadowless (unlimited). They won’t be mixed together.
wait wtf, 1 booster pack can contain some 1st editions and some non 1st editions? do you have boxes that contain packs like these? what are the chances that they are just resealed packs with different cards inside?
There hasn’t been any documented mixing of Unlimited and shadowless variants within a box that I know of… outside of the 1st ed. uncommons mixture example, of which I’ve only seen a couple instances. But as Gary said it’s possible that it had occurred.
Back then, Wizards was scrambling to get as much product out the door, by any means necessary. They used every card they had laying around to fill those packs. Also, why would anyone put 1st edition and shadowless cards back into resealed base packs?
It could also be sheer oversight; I’ve had that happen with modern boosters even, straight from my distributor (multiple reverse holo’s in a pack, no rare, etc.)
As has been mentioned, anything is possible, neither of the above has ever been documented, second scenario is extremely unlikely though, these are unlimited packs accidentally stamped/printed with a 1st ed symbol, it would even be a very very long stretch for them to contain shadowless cards
Found this in another thread - these tips would fall between variants 3 and 4:
Shadowless (and 1st edition Base) packs say “11 Tradable Game Cards”. Regular unlimited base packs say “11 ADDITIONAL GAME CARDS” (yes, all capitalized).
Also the last sentence on the “upper half” of the back of the boosters saying “Each player must have a 60-card deck of Pokémon cards to play” is missing from the shadowless boosters…
I have recently acquired variant #11 and would like to add a picture of the Polish Information Label at the back to clarify. This thread has helped me out a lot and i am sure it will continue to help many others!
Any other pics of information needed i’d be happy to help anyone!
Sorry to bump an old guide but I have some more info to add on the UK made for Poland sale packs:
There are a couple minor differences between stickers on the backs, they all say the same thing basically however some do not have Bolded title text, or a dash on the second line, also there is a tab after the distributor line on some
