Hi!!! It’s Omanyte.
I’m writing this because I need feedback.
I write Pokémon TCG articles in WikiDex (Spanish Pokémon Wiki). The articles I write are destined to collectors (Language collectors, Species Collectors, Variant collectors, etc)
I’ve read this thread in the past and I’m trying to take notes to don’t commit the same errors Bulbapedia does.
I’m trying to include Languages & Variants to the card articles. Currently I’ve tested it with Base Set Charizard and it looks like this.
My original idea was including Tabbers, but site administration didn’t like it because it “hide the information”. It’s weird, but I’m not going to discuss about it.
It ended like this … but I need feedback because want it to be accurate for collectors in general (including Languages and Variants a card has been released physically)
I also need feedback on how can I improve articles of Trainer Cards and Energy cards such as this one.
I’m looking to put information of Japanese and Oriental regions (languages & variants) … I need ideas of how can I structure this info for Trainers and Energy cards accurately (and not being a wall text like Bulbapedia does) …
Thank you for reading this …
Oma

I like all the details and bullet points but I feel like a table would be good for quicker reference. I dont know if that helps at all with what you are specifically asking though.

I’ve thought about a chart at some point.
However, I can’t explain distribution of cards with charts …
Do you consider useful having a chart of variants available and then the text explaining the distribution of the cards???
I can try it as a draft test and show you all how it looks like …
Edit: I’ve finished building the “Variant chart” for Base Set Charizard (card article I’m testing)
And then it goes the distribution text (as a separed subtitle)

For me this helps visualize what needs to be collected, if I was looking for charizard, while the descirptions is the better explanation if I want to learn more about how to find each one.

Well … That’s my intention:
Create something that is actually useful for collectors and not just “Copy + Paste” of a card.
I’ll start applying that format to the other card articles soon …
Glad you’ve liked the chart.
Edit: I’m starting to apply this starting with e-Cards.
Personally I like how it looks …
Hope you all find this structure useful …
