How would you spend $54,000?

And yet, most WOTC pokemon boxes/PSA 10 cards have outperformed every stock market in the world for the last 5 consecutive years…

(Developed countries stock market’s- Lol assuming no developing countries stock market, which I have never heard of, went up faster)

I say 5 years simply because that’s when I started paying attention to pokemon again.

I am pretty sure there’s no PSA 10 prerelease clefables in existence, also none with a 1st edition stamp haha :ninja:

PSA 10 1st ed base set holo’s

Place a down payment on a home. Housing market I feel is more promising for profit return if I choose to sell. Plus even if the market crashed I still have a roof over my head. So yea a downpayment on a house for now. Maybe my answer will change once I own a home. If I own a home then i would look at maybe a nice upgrade to my wife’s engagement ring and the rest goes to my hobby maybe idk haha. So many things I could do

definitely not pokemon cards. i would probably invest into opening a chicken restaurant.

I would put that money towards a house. I would like to have a lot of rooms so I can have a dedicated room for my Pokémon collection.

I have heard of this but I’ve never understood it. Doesn’t she have a deep connection to it since it was the one that you proposed with? My wife would never want to trade in her ring.

I wrestled with myself a bit over what to spend on the engagement ring even though knowing my now wife is not materialistic, I really wanted it to be something special. I ended up very happy with where I was at as it was a comfortable price for me (and honestly probably over what she would have expected/wanted), but I got a very traditional single stone ring and focused a lot on the diamond quality. Also went with a platinum band as she likes silver color over gold. I knew I would allow her to choose her wedding ring though and there are so many options out there that I knew she would be able to dress up the pair however she saw fit (which she did). In hindsight and after conversation with her I definitely did overspend what I “had” to. She chose a very modest, and cheaper than the engagement ring, wedding ring to go with it. Honestly if I had spent 10% of what I did and gotten her a sterling silver band with moissanite stone her answer would be the same and our marriage would be as happy as it is today. If money was tight at the time that surely would have been the way I would hav went.

My wife really isn’t materialistic either. It was more an idea that was tossed up as a what if say we won the lottery or in this case had 54k. She is very fond of the diamond i got her because of the amount of effort i placed to save and would want it as a necklace instead to symbolize that she holds it close to her heart. I think she’s always liked necklaces over rings. If we turned it into a necklace we would upgrade to a new engagement ring. It’s all personal preference really. I honestly have nothing against it because while diamond are over abundant they just keep raising in value as time goes on. Always the chance it could become worthless at some point but doubtful in my lifetime. Down payment on a house will come first before anything like this though and probably other things that I can’t think of off the top of my head.

@silentoaths interesting perspective and interesting idea if you were to ever go for the upgrade. Definitely shoot for that 20% down for a house to avoid PMI. Good luck with the saving.

This. And with my remaining $5 I’d buy a box of Kleenex to wipe away my tears.

The question was what Pokemon product you would spend the money on. Obviously there is a whole world of other things you could do with it.

I would buy Gary’s bgs 10 charizard and sell it back right after to use the money for a Down payment on a house.

Finished product might not be as cool as it sounds, but I’d buy uncut sheets of holos from the WotC era and have them encassed in glass to use as a coffee tables.

Something like what they did with this medal.

Cool idea, just make sure the coffee table has a coffee table book about coffee tables on it
