We all see those high expensive items listed at high prices with best offers on ebay whether it be @garyis2000 charizard lot or @cullers 1st ed psa 10 charizard. I’m not really a serious ebay seller but what I want to enquire about is how noticeable or effective does putting an expensive item on your ebay store increase your sales from the other items advertised in your ebay store, whether it be singles or other psa cards.
It works very well. For one, there is zero cost to do it so at worst it is a no lose proposition. It garners tons of views. I have made a few sales that started with a message on one of my high list price listings that I don’t intend to sell. (But would sell if the right price came along) It would be hard to measure exactly how many sales were made because of it, but I know my store gets lots of views that start with those listings.
@gottaketchumall is right that it’s hard to measure exactly how many sales are made through it, but I know it’s the listing that gets me the most conversation and according to ebay analytics it has the highest impressions at a little under 92,000, and the hightest click through rate at 7.3%. Which means a little over 6,700 people are looking at the page (could be duplicates of the same people but there’s no way for me to check).
According to ebay the average click through rate is 2.5% if we use that number and assume people that go to my listing page and then use it to click to my store page we get roughly 150 people. These numbers aren’t exact because I can’t get the exact data, but for no cost, to then get 1 potential customers it’s well worth it, let alone roughly 150.
There’s also a listing boost I get for having a high traffic item that’ll give me a higher search ranking for my other items, that’s impossible to measure, there’s people that message me for private sales which allows me to buy items for cheaper, and of course there’s free entertainment.
Lol.
I’ve used that girl in my listings for like 15 years I think. She’s probably in her 40s now which is a spring chicken to me…but mom to most of you🤷🏻♂️
Rick missed out… but now that I know you’re willing to settle for less than that million dollars… I will start stripping starting tomorrow.
Chumlee wanted it!
Again, awesome, and really cool to type to you. Best episode… Part of what got me back into collecting… My parents called me saying “Mike! I think we have some of those cards upstairs!” - I was like “Mom, I am across the country, but I can assure you we do not”… Now a couple weeks later… I am trying!
