How to price bulk in a bigger deal

Hello people,
Got back in the ‘Pokémon game’ when my nephew last january brought home his first booster pack. Now I treat the hobby almost like a business as I want to build a collection while also reselling the extra cards I pick up along the way.

Now that that’s out of the way, here’s my question (bear with me if this is straight up stupid). I’m talking with a guy and we are almost agreeing to a price for a few cards I really want to purchase. However, as a requirement for the deal, he also wants me to buy his bulk (mostly sun & moon era cards) of 400ish cards.

What would be a fair price? How do you deal with bulk (if at all)? I’m from Italy and most of the cards are in Italian if this changes anything.

Do you want to buy the bulk? If yes, maybe pay 1-2 cents a card, due to it being Italian cards. If you don’t want the bulk, is the rest of the deal good enough to be left with bulk? If not, avoid the deal.

@swarm , thanks for the quick reply. Very helpful. I would buy it regardless if he accepts the price you suggest.

Now the next question would be: what would I even do with 400 cards I don’t need that have no value? I’d feel pretty bad throwing everything away…

I don’t really know what you can do with that bulk due to being Italian. You could give it away or keep it.

You could sell the cards individually on cardmarket or as part/complete set(s).
