How to post a looking for a card

Unlike most people on here I don’t have much disposable income so I am looking for a card but don’t want to set aside money for it until I have one I know I can make a deal on. How could I do this on here if at all?

i would just make note of that in my buy thread to make sure the seller is aware, some people may make the acception ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After you have 50 posts, you can post a buy thread in the buy section. Post what price you can offer, and wait to see if anybody can sell it to you close to that price.

I know some people are debt averse, but Paypal Credit’s 6 month no interest promotion is how I have obtained cards without having cash ready. It does require G&S, so you can’t Friends and Family with a trusted friend/member.

Not directed to you personally, but if anyone has to go in dept to buy a Pokémon card, there is something seriously wrong with their priorities…

I would usually agree with this but I could justify using a credit card for a $5000 card if it will sell 2 hours later for $7000 lol

@quuador, I’d have to respectively disagree. 6/24 month interest free debt is very low risk.

In today’s market, I think you might have a hard time finding a seller to commit to holding onto selling a particular card to you especially if that holding time is long. I don’t know your personal financial situation but if you don’t have much disposable income, I would recommend saving for the card you want first and then trying to find a copy for sale.

I would save as much money as you can and then ask for the card. I don’t know your personal financial situation but if you don’t have a lot of disposable income I would look at the money you are spending on food and see if you can cut that amount down so you have more disposable income. With the current market being so crazy day to day it makes you think you will not be able to buy a card ever. So if you need more money I would work more hours and save more money! As far as using debt goes that is up to you but remember: the borrower is slave to the lender

I struggle with this too. I nearly max out credit cards to get what I need.

I got a complete gym heroes NM set for 650, nearly maxing out my card( I’m still working on my credit), but If I wanted I could flip it from 1000-2000 or so. I didn’t know that was going to happen but it’s one of those instances where you buy a card for 5000 and flip it for 7000 situation, just on a smaller scale.

If OP had the money to pay off his debt, then I’d think there is no problem with him using credit to build a score or get points. If OP uses credit without the capital to pay it off to buy a Pokemon card, then I think that’s a bit silly even if it is interest free for a while. You never know when an emergency may happen and you need money for your or your loved ones real needs.

I didn’t know you could get into debt buying Pokémon cards :joy:

credit cards aren’t dangerous if you are soundly aware of your financial situation
