Thats a good point. However, I don’t think purchases of fake cards are having a big impact on new product sales, whether that be from Pokemon direct or a 3rd party store like yourself.

I just looked it up, you can buy a fake Pikachu Illustrator on ebay for $12.00. Is the buyer of a fake card really not buying a new booster box because they bought a $12 fake card? I would say no.

I’m not saying its a good thing, just that these fakes have such a small impact on Nintendo’s sales numbers, and that is why they don’t do anything about it.

No impact on the Pokémon company. The only impact is on those investors.

Glad to see those saying “buy whatever you want”, then over here strongly criticize replicas. Nice community.

Buying whatever you want means buying any real cards. Fake cards are purely negative to the community. Fake cards take market share from real cards.

If it makes you happy, fill your binder with fake cards. If you make them yourself and never sell them, that’s totally fine.

But if you sell them, you’re harming the hobby.

And if you don’t think that fake cards / copyright infringement are a problem for a Pokémon company, you should see how hard their lawyers work.

Is today a late April’s fools day? How in the world did this thread get to 9 pages. Counterfeit cards need reported everytime we see one being sold. End of story. Why in the world are people defending the purchase of fake cards? What do we have proxy hustlers in this thread trying to justify ripping off new comers? I’m looking at you whoever has that counterfeit base zard at auction right now… What has this world come to :thinking:
