High End Tokyo / Osaka Card Shops

Hey everyone, I’m currently in Japan and just on the hunt for higher end cards. I’ve got a list of the shops I’ve been going to but I’m wondering if anyone has any additional shops that I could check out.

I saw alot of previous posts with card shop suggestions but none really focused on having inventory of the higher range. Right now I’m looking for singles valued at 155k yen or (1k~ USD).

Here’s the stores I’ve currently been going too:

Akihabara
Card Rush
PDG Collector’s shop (slabs)
Otachu 2
PDG Collector’s shop (singles)
TCG Lounge
Toreca Stellar
Magi
YK Trading Card Shop
Valuable Card Tokyo

Ikebukuro :
Card Secret
Big Magic

Im just looking for stores who have a decent / limited selection of these type of cards. I’ve been struggling to find additional stores. It feels like most stores I go not on the list do not even carry the higher end singles.

Below I’ve attached my Day 1 pickups.

I dont have any stores in mind, but a reason for the singles shortage could be the high influx of tourists clearing stores out. Youve been to most I would expect to have the higher end ones. Maybe try some youtube videos as well if you havent already in those areas.

In the past year or two Ive seen tons of people ask the same question about stores with high end budgets following them, so it wouldnt surprise me cards are getting tough to come by since there are also the japanese themselves that collect. Good luck finding what you want/need though!

If your itinerary is flexible enough for it, PDG’s store in Nagoya was also really good. In Osaka I would suggest checking out Hiki Shoten. Ninnin 2 and Topsun also come to mind but both focus more on vintage than modern and I notice around 90% of your haul is modern.

My other suggestion is to follow a bunch of these store accounts on X and let the algorithm start suggesting things to you. For example I was hunting for vintage and after liking a few posts/following a few accounts who were posting that kind of stuff I started being fed some hints on what kinds of stores/areas to look out for while in Japan.

Thanks! If there’s a good amount of other shops in Nagoya as well than I can make the trip there but it doesn’t make sense to spend the 4 hour round trip for one store unfortunately.

As for not picking up more vintage, I’m really only looking for singles I believe could PSA 10. Which finding vintage like that is a needle in a haystack.

In Osaka, Adorenaline might fit your interests - I wouldn’t really expect amazing deals but they both have a decent-sized inventory that could at least be fun to look at.

No suggestions but that Day 1 haul is impressive! Just really great spread of all kinds of different stuff. Safe travels wherever you go and looking forward to your Day 2 hauls!

Have fun and thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

Thank you! I really wish I had a cool Day 2 to post but I honestly couldn’t find much. Slim pickings after I cleared the stores. It doesn’t seem like they replenish the high end as fast as I thought.

That one is a bit particular, it was a tax free shop so -10% from the sticker price and I negotiated the base down as well.

I checked them out! Mostly YUGIOH, but their vintage selection was on point. Unfortunately nothing minty there for me but I’ll put it on the rotation and keep checking.
