Help! Stolen PSA Cards. **Major Recovery Update**

Looks like they are using my own address to ship the items lol… This is gonna be rough

Wow.

Good luck, mate. Keep us updated!

If the return address and your name is on the package by the lugia buyer then it could be an indication the thief new you, perhaps re think who knows about your high value cards .

So much this. A bit of a self reminder as well, but it is very tempting to tell (sometimes even brag) about the value of certain cards when people give you those strange looks after they learn you collect Pokemon cards as an adult. Even if they get impressed or surprised in the moment by their value, what is the point of seeking their approval? Most people just do not “get” the collector mentality regardless of what value some items may have.

This is very unfortunate, hoping you can get it resolved!

Can the buyer open a return case? So the buyer would get refunded and return the card back to the return address. But since the theif is using your address it technically means it would be sent back to you?

That’s what I might end up doing, but the problem is I already left positive feedback… :slightly_frowning_face:

Maybe theres fingerprints on the card :face_with_monocle:

The seller probably already used windex…

Damn it’s likely the thief is a E4 member by the sounds of it or an accomplice at the very least

I thought that as well when someone mentioned that the listings were taken down with an hour of him reporting here. Very fishy stuff!

This definitely sounds like you were targeted. They knew to grab those cards and knew your exact address when selling them. I’m sorry you’re going through this and I hope it gets straightened out. I would definitely look into people you know though. To the buyer I think you could file a claim through ebay or PayPal for not as described if the photo they use didnt have the same cert number. Say you just noticed it and are concerned with authenticity, hopefully Ebay will refund you, send a label to ship back to the owner and the thief takes the hit. Good luck either way

Investigation is ongoing. I will update the progress when I can. Buyer is changing names constantly, may have abandoned his account already. Hes out of Riverside CA. Hes been trying to list my PSA 10 GS Flareon so I know that hasn’t been sold yet. Haven’t seen the others come up yet.

Bump with another sold item of mine that was stolen. Any of you buy this?

This was 100% what came to my mind. @pokeaddict84, do you sell much? particularly do you have high value cards listed? it’s likely that this person has purchased something from you (probably under a different alias if this was the plan all along). Have a look through your sold items for anything specific, the address would surely be within close proximity to yours

If you prepare a strong enough legal case pointing to these eBay users eBay/PayPal along with any other company that hold data has to give up the personal info of that individual.

I work for a software company and we had to hand over information of a specific person in regard to criminal prosecution. Also important to note most major companies never truly delete data, just soft delete it so theirs nothing the thief can do in regards of getting their information removed. This means the thief has already messed up since you have a link from the person that bought the lugia you once’s owned.

Might be a bit of a process, but I’d be sweating if I was the person selling your stuff.

Something just crossed my mind – even if the seller used your address he must’ve at the very least used his real paypal information in order to get paid right? So why not work backwards from his eBay account to find out what his paypal is and track him that way?

It is much more complicated than that now… I won’t go into much detail here. Hes using a stolen card to funnel the money and take it out. Police still haven’t gotten access to potential real information leaked to him. Fake names everywhere!
