Have you spent money on Pokémon Go?

I used to spend so much, on raid passes, on incubators, on events and tickets. But since a lot of the changes they have made in the past few years I haven’t been doing much of anything with it.

Looking up my data, the time I spent money on GO was April 2023 and I still have coins just sitting there since I bought that bundle.

No idea honestly … but these missions tend to return after several years.
The Shiny Mew was originally released by the start of 2020 and returned in 2023. Since then it hasn’t returned.

About the Celebi one, it was related to Zarude event in 2021 approx.

I completely felt this post! I myself have probably spent a $1000 or so myself. Likewise, I’ve gained so many great experiences and friendships through playing. I was an everyday player from launch until around my child was born a few years ago. For me, traveling and “collecting” a souvenir shiny or regional are always some cool memories for me to look back on.

My three favorite memories:
-Traveling to Chicago for GoFest. Staying in Chicago literally less than 24 hours just for the event. So cool seeing that many Pokemon Go players within on area.
-Getting my professional work boss who never knew anything Pokemon (in his late 40’s early 50’s)…to download and play. Not only did he get hooked, but ended up getting the highest level 50 rank.
-Being based on the east coast, traveling to Hawaii on our honeymoon and doing Cyndaquil community day

What % of the time would estimate you throw an Excellent?

And do you have any tips for the casual player who plays on an off? Anything experts take for granted that casuals might not pick up on?

I’d say I’ve spent $350-500 total. In the early days it was storage and incubators but quickly switched to raids once that was introduced. I played everyday and was walking/jogging 3-10 miles a day from when the game dropped until 2020.

I moved to a new city/job in 2020 (plus Covid) and the new place isnt as PoGo friendly. I still open the app occasionally, walking the nearby park but I’m just not playing near what I was…

Less than 24 hours in Chicago is crazy. 2018, we were only there for maybe 36 hours and that felt insane haha. Not to mention the 12 hour drive each way.

When I’m trying to throw Excellents, maybe 50%. Although I don’t typically try and just toss randomly. Truthfully I have a Gotcha/++ doing most of my catches anymore. To many other things to do/manage.

As for tips, it’s just like collecting cards. Can be as shallow or as deep of a whole as you want to go down. And all that matters is you’re enjoying it. Play how you want, not how others say to.
