Have I bought fake Vending Series sheets?

Sorry if this is the wrong category. New here, but wanted to check something with you guys because I’ve seen there are some geniuses around!

I’ve ordered these Vending Series 1 sheets from Japan (To the UK) and they are on their way here. I just noticed that where it shows the packs on the right hand side, there are 7 of them. When comparing to others online there appear to only be 4 packs. Was there a printing with 7, or have I been duped?

Not fake, the different artwork is also used on series 2 and series 3.

Interesting observation! I’m no expert on unpeeled vending sheets and admittedly haven’t looked at many before this moment, but I believe that would be a very odd thing to change if you’re looking to fake an item.

Picking around online I do see a few examples although they do seem a bit harder to find.

This eBay listing shows a series 1 sheet

This article shows a series 2 sheet

If I had to guess it’s a updated print run that was smaller than the first.

Thanks everyone! I’m now wondering if this makes it slightly more rare. I was planning on peeling but would hate to ruin it if so!

Entirely up to yourself however, if you’re looking to peel a vending sheet and hoping for mint or well centered cards, good luck! Vending has so many cards out there I’d recommend highly to buy raw than peel a sheet as it’s a bit of a gamble. Unpeeled sheets are worth much more than raw bad centered cards.

These are real. I recently bought a complete set of V3 at auction and peeled the cards myself.
I can not complain about the grades - almost all 10s and 9s. Just be very careful when peeling (do not use your nails, you are better off gently bending the sheet back) and be ready to sleeve immediately one by one.

If real, it definitely seems more rare. Having a hard time finding many examples of it. I am surprised they updated to a long crimp Base pack. I am not familiar with any banned or error corrections, but maybe there are some not yet discovered.

Normally they are made in 1998 not 2000. I have seen multiple versions of the 1998 where some of the text changes. The price of the deck and some of the verbiage changes.

Such a great card that Pikachu! Probably my fave Pikachu card…

Thanks! Do you know which cards are on these? I have researched them and know there are 3 sheets for each artwork, with the 3rd having 4 cards, so these are each either the first or second sheet, but I have no idea if there’s away to tell the difference?

Each of the three series had 18 sheets I think… Bottom right corner lets you know which one by number.

Ah, I see 14 and 11. Sorry! Should have noticed that.

The good part is you can use it to look up what cards will be on the sheet before peeling. You can find several other promos with similar peel sheets for corocoro promos and a few others. I am curious now if they will have copyright 2000 on the card or 1998. I’ll try to do some more searching and see.

It’s a little strange that it’s so hard to find out about a print run in 2000. I’m now split between peeling for research (and fun) or keeping it unpeeled as a bit of a rarity. Can always buy one from 98!

Good lord, these are $60 each nowadays? That’s insane.

You can shine a bright light through the unpeeled sheet to illuminate some of the details
