Gym Challenge

I have the complete set Japanese gym Challenge from 20 years back.
All the holos including Blaine’s charizard would probably grade 9 or 10.
I think Charizard would grade a 10. I plan to sell all my collections in 5 or 7 years.
Would it be smarter to brake up the set and grade the holos…or keep it as a set.
In 5 years when I get ready to sell what would make the most sense?
Thanks

The charizord is approx a $150 card in PSA 10. You’re trying to come up with a 7 year plan for a day’s worth of salary in a $40k/year job. The smartest thing to do is not worry about it. Keep the cards in mint condition and you will always have the chance to grade if it becomes worth it one day.

Lol. When you put it that way.

Grade the holos for now before grading prices rise, and then you’ll at least have them protected as well. When it comes time to sell you can decide what to do.

If the trivial increase in grading cost is going to significantly cut into the profits, it’s probably a card not worth grading. Again, this is attempting to save like… $100 over a 7 year span?

I’d also suggest sitting down and running the numbers on supplies (sleeves/card savers), shipping, grading fees, PSA membership? Ebay fees… I think you’ll see the “profit” margins are very slim haha

Not trying to harsh your vibe, I just sat down and did this with 18 cards I was thinking about grading. Higher sales, if I sold every card at top price, said cards would total like $700. While the costs of doing such were not far behind that number…

I’d probably just keep your cards. Haha
