And people would be ripping open boxes of cheese in stores or workers would be trying to sell unopened cheese packs on Market place.

I miss the innocent pre-social media times of this hobby.

You are my best friend right now.

Remember I said I could find out how they ended up making this sort of agreement?
Well. I was wrong. So damn wrong.

That’s so cool! Is it for sale?

It wasn’t listed as for sale. A lot of people were asking but I didn’t see a reply.

Thank you for that @justinator

Incredibly wierd release in a micky mouse magazine. I missed when @omic first posted it, so thank you Omic as well.

Hey guys can we guarantee that the dark charmeleon was not a guarantee with the kraft promotion? Was it really a 1 in 25 chance? So you could keep buying cheese and never get the card? lol

@stagecoach you asked if the plastic pack had all 20 cards, but the promotional flyer said collect 25 cards? Which one is it?

If you add the Italian Pikachu and the Silver Charmeleon, you get a hole page!

Here is the link for the video! Thanks again for making it possible. I hope you guys do enjoy it. I tried to be as historically accurate as possible. A link to this thread is in the video description, including a link to @PokemonClassics

I’d been waiting for you to say this video was done. It was a great watch. Every thing was so clearly described.

You did such a great job with this video! Also, your collection of these cards is amazing! Well done!

@joer Really excellent video. I highly recommend that anybody watch it even if you think you know these cards well already.

I think the real standout here is everything you assembled about Dark Charmeleon. I had never seen a lot of that in-store marketing material before. AND - I learned something. For years I have been saying that Dark Charmeleon was in boxes of Kraft macaroni and cheese, but thanks to your video I realize I have been mistaken for over a decade. I’m about to go through every time I talked about this card on E4 and edit the post to say Kraft Singles instead. :sob:

Really great work, thank you for your research and for consolidating information about this series in a way that is fundamentally different than something like Bulbapedia. This is a terrific introduction to this category of cards and is deeply researched enough that even I am a better collector for watching it. Many kudos.

I really think videos like this that collect and present information categorically are necessary for the hobby. To get all this same information as a new collector you would have to navigate numerous Bulbapedia articles about different releases. I would have killed for this video in 2009.

Just picked up the Dark Charmeleon, I’m glad prices have dropped again. Just realized I don’t have the psyduck yet.

Appreciate it brother. I’ll take some time to think about what I would like to do next. I actually have an NES Action Set complete unboxing that will be next in terms of historical videos, but I do have some ideas for pokemon. Lots of great options!
